Do you shut your lights off when your not in that room?

yes, i always shut off the lights off when i am not in the room and there is no need of the light in that room at that time.

I shut them off if I'm going to be out of the room longer than just briefly with one except and that is for a lamp in the living if I'm in my office on the computer. I leave it on so I can see if I go in to watch a TV program or the news so that I don't have to turn on other lights on the way and then go back and turn them off.

I keep lights out, whenever I am in or going out of a room. Infact, I seldom use bright lights in my room because my eyes easily gets irritated by being exposed on too much light. I use dim lights, just to have a little lumination. I only switch my main lights on, if ever I want to read something. That way, I can relax, enjoy and also helped my family by conserving energy!;)

I am a stickler for things like that; I was taught in an early age not to be wasteful of a lot of things, and lights/electricity was one of those things. Whenever I go into a room, I make sure I turn off the lights in the previous room before I go into the new room. The only exception is the night light with a sensor in the living room that only comes on at night, and the hallway that is very dark at night as well.

That will depend on how long I expect myself to leave the room. If it is just for a short while, I don't normally care. Doesn't make sense to switch if off and then back on after a short while. But if it is for long, I will switch off the light. Off the monitor, etc. I don't need any light to make my way around my house in the dark. I can walk to the bathroom without a light fine as it is. :)

I always turn lights off when leaving a room, and my wife is the same now. She didn't use to be, but I know where that came from. The in-laws used to drive me crazy with the lights left on in their house when no-one was in the room. And that was during the day, and I also believe they had more windows, therefore natural light, so I could never work out why the lights were on in the first place!

ya . i do the same . its our duty to save energy and teach others too. some people mistakenly don't do.

well I normally shut every light in the house off including the monitor my mouse has lights so that gives off a good amount of light and my computer so i'm not completely in the dark

Hi. We always turn off the lights when we're not using the room or have left the room, theres no point in wasting power. Power in NZ is expensive and you really have to be power conservative if you dont want the huge bill at the end of the month...

Most of the time I switch it off, sometimes I forget.

here, we always turned off the lights before we go out of every room to conserve energy. at night, i only have 1 watt bulb light on to see my way around when preparing my baby's formula.
