1408 released on 22nd of this month is slowly climbing the success. The story of the movie : The tagline for the old Roach Motels was "Roaches check in, but they don't check out". That's pretty much what room 1408 is like, except with better lighting and special effects. But that's just an old ghost story or urban legend. A skeptical man of science, like author Mike Enslin shouldn't be scared, but when he settles in for a night in the famously haunted room, he has to question justwhat it is he believes. 1. It's based on a story by Stephen King. Just like "Secret Window", stand by Me and ""The Shawshank Redemption". 2. John Cusack gets seriously unhinged, and Samuel L. Jackson gets to be in a movie without the word "Snake" in the title. 3. A rare horror film where a smart person is put in peril and gets to behave........like a smart person.

I went to see 1408 yesterday. I actually have never read the short story by King. But I really did enjoy the film. John Cusack was excellent in it. It does leave you pondering at the end, though! There was one line of Samuel L Jackson's, though, that made me think of the infamous "Snakes" line! The theatre my friend and I went to was really not busy on a Satuday afternoon with gorgeous weather...we had the whole movie to ourselves! Which was great for commenting! And for loudly advising 'Mike' not to go back over to the window!
