i may look like a japanese in everything from my face down to my skin color but the colors of my eyes, my accent, my body in proportion to my long and slender legs gave way to my not being a real mccoy. but my being not a real japanese never discouraged me to pursue my dreams and ambition to be successful here in this country where discrimination is very much alive.
most of the time, i feel like giving up, especially where japanese girls working at your club are concerned.
so i get me a japanese bartender to manage the girls, you know why.. they dont want to work with a foreign born mamasan.. the arrogance, the racial slurs but they need to work where they can get competitive salary and i can pay them slightly higher than a real japanese mamasan.
i came to love this country where the good, the bad and the ugly racial discrimination is part of my everyday life .no one is encouraging me but my firm resolve to do it alone successfully with nobody helping me emotionally, mentally and physically . how much longer will i last in this kind of business here where discrimination is rampant especially to one like me?

Hi Mika, welcome to mylot. I see that you have so much of hatred in where you are now. Just be patient. You have to understand human nature. This place is just right for to be in. I think you can have great conversation with many people here. Happy mylotting.

NO, zandi458(901), you're definitely wrong, i love this country very much although i was born in a wrong country, the philippines, i am of a third generation japanese and i have been here for twenty years now. although most of my siblings are naturalized american citizen, i rather stay, live, work and die here. i have accepted the facts that discrimination is part of a human ills. i have no hatred whatsoever with the country, its people that i have adopted. i rather be here than living in some parts of europe like a younger sister of mine who is married to a german, and living in america where the food and culture is not in tuned with my personality and character. the problem is: japanese has this tribal mentality--whether i belong there or not coz i m not a 100% pure japanese. i am running two japanese bars and a snack bar. the club is being managed by a pure japanese male and i do the tow japanese bars we called izakaya. and ten years running businesses here is a mighty feat for a foreign born mama-san. anyway thank you very much for your time and comments.
