Woops, did I really say that out loud?

Do you ever catch yourself uttering a profanity or some other not so nice thing out loud then looking around to make sure no one heard you? Or maybe you were thinking something not so wonderful about a co worker and didn't realize until it was too late that you had said it out loud? I just did it a minute ago, and while I am alone in the room, everyone from up front is showing up, not to mention the Mayor is only one door down, and I said it pretty loud. I am used to being alone in here as I work midnight shift. I really must learn to watch my tongue. So how about you, do you ever realize at the last minute you said something maybe not so great out loud? Do you worry who has heard you?

I just did recently. My daughter who is one year and five months was totally making me bonkers, she's so naughty, she was doing all these things at once that she's not supposed to do, running around, reaching stuff so swiftly she almost broke some glasses. The S word slipped in my mouth and for the first time I heard it also slipped right from her mouth!LOL Uh-oh! I realized should start watching out whatever I have to say.

oh and those are the things the LOVE to repeat. You can try to get them to say Nana or Doggie, but the *s* word comes out and it flows ever so easily from their little mouths..lol

Not really, my friend. I tried to think but cannot recall any such instance. If I say it, I say it. No big deal. If I am not at a place or with some people who should not hear any slip, then I won't. At most I swear silently lol but I don't make slips. I might have but I can't really recall any instance.:P

no, i dont utter profanity by mistake. I believe it has a very important purpose as it allows the expression of emotions that can not be expressed any other way. So, if someone hears me, it is intended because i do not utter such things unless i really mean it blessed be

Well, it has happened to me many times. At times when i am in my office with my colleagues and just say something bad about my boss. Exactly at that time i will find my boss passing that way. Sometimes when i am angry i utter some bad word at home and only then i think whether my parents would have heard about it. I am sure that it is not only me but many will be like this. But i consider this as a bad habit for myself and i should have a control on my tongue.

Oh yes I have done that a number of times. The S word tends to slip out if I bump into something or something goes wrong. Then I am like oops I mean shoot*L* Like that will take away what already slipped out. I have learned if I say something that I am thinking not meaning for it to come out that laughing at myself eases the tension my words might have caused. Don't worry about what you said a minute ago I am sure the Mayor lets things slip from time to time too*L*

Such occurances had taken place in my life too. It put us in a odd situation, and we will be undergoing tension as to if some body had heard what we said. We should be more cautious about our loose talking. Thank you misheleen.

I have always had this thing about never ever ever cussing around kids, until I went on vacation, and my guard was down. I had just gotten a phone call from my husband who told me that he had been fired, again! well since this was his eighth job this year, I lit into him like a drill sergeant! unfortunately, there was a family of four, with two kids behind me. whoops! well ,there went my no cursing rule! to make matters worse, my husband was only joking.

hehe Tha happened to me before quite a few times. It used to happen more when I was younger because I tended not to think before the word was out, now it doesn't happen as much because I have more practice thinking before opening my mouth LOL

LOL that it does :) For some reason it is easier for me now to think before I talk, but I have to confess that it is not my doing hehe at least not on a conscious effort, it's just happening. If it hadn't I would be in deep trouble sometimes LOL

well ya i also have a habit of thinking bad about people but i dont really say it out loud, i think before i say, my friends tell me that i am not that much talkative, well thats the reason , i think of what i am saying before i say and i personally like it as i might say something which the person doesnt like and i dont want them to get hurt.

I have let loose a few zingers, but slapped my mouth for saying them. The reaction on the faces of those around me when I do it makes everyone laugh. I am not one to swear around people and it takes many by surprise when I do.

I don't curse often, but every once in awhile I will let one slip. Usually I just say sorry, I just try to make sure none of the kids are around when I let loose. LOL It always seems to happen when you think no one else is around. And sometimes people will look so shocked that I said something, I am very embarressed.

no need to be embarassed. it's life, we all slip. I wasn't embarassed as much as it is something I really don't think the Mayor needs to hear..lol.

I have. I try really hard not to but I have slipped up. I remember the day I said something in front of my boss. He was shocked, then he laughed at me because he had never heard me swear. I used to work in a plant with all men. You get used to their fowl mouth (I know not all men are that way) and then you find yourself talking like them after awhile. I have this really polite kid (ok he's 27 but a kid to me) that works here. Everytime he slips up and says anything, even darn he apoligizes like crazy. I've heard & said worse thing in my life (not that I'm proud of it) then anything I've ever heard him say. I always let him know it's ok but that he is a very mature polite person for his age.
