The new contest on Helium.com

Just in case anyone here doesn't get the Helium newsletter, I thought I'd let you all know about the new contest: Channel Champions. It's not clear how long this promotion will run, and I haven't been able to find a link to it anywhere on the site. I've been using the link in my E-mail to get there, instead. The contest information is here: http://corp.helium.com/About/Contest/ContestList.aspx?email=NewsLetterJune&emailloc=c1 The basic idea is that if you write articles in certain channels, on specific topics, you have a chance to win extra money. It's similar to the contest they ran in March/April, but a little bit more focused this time. So far, I like it a lot. I wrote three articles for one channel last night, and I'm the number one writer for that channel now. If I can keep my ranking until next week, that's a $75 payout!

Thanks for pointing this out. I signed up at helium but have yet to write anything there since I put most of my stuff on AC. I'll have to go check it out, and explore the site a bit more. Thanks agian for making us aware of this.

AC is generally my top choice for when I write a full-length article, but Helium's contests are a lot of fun! The only bad thing about it is if they don't have any topics you are at all interested in, but there is usually enough variety to catch everyone's attention. :)

I've recently started submitted most of my articles to AC as non-exclusive in hopes of putting them on Helium as well. I just haven't made it over to the Helium website to check it out in a while.

You might want to check the Helium terms of service about that... I am fairly sure that if you submit something there, you aren't able to submit it anywhere else--I think everything that goes to Helium has to be exclusive to them.

You have to go into community. There is a link to the contest page there.

They've actually made the contests a lot more accessible since I first posted this discussion. Thanks for the tip! :)

I joined Helium in March, but I didn't write for these last two months. I just picked up writing again this week. And as soon as I wrote for the contest, my earning jumps up a whole 25 cents these last 4 four days. I am not active with their Community, or any thing at all for that matter. I write when I see something that I want to write about. I am not like others, the max I can do in a week is 5 articles. I guess I have a life too....(Ha ha ha..) Besides, I don't know everything like other writers. Isn't it amazing how one person knows so many different things and can produce like 25 or more articles a week?

I like the fact that they have a new contest going on, and the fact that Helium has decided to spread the money out, rather than concentrating it to a few winners...more people get more loot. However, when I looked at the topics for this week, I found them to be very eclectic. Couldn't find anything I really know much about...so either I need to do research or wait until next week. Still, I am glad that the contest is back, and improved at that!

Yeah, the topics were a bit odd this week--not much I knew anything about. But I was able to find three to write in one category, and I've got high hopes that they will stumble on one of my preferred categories over the course of this contest! :)

It will take a long time to see any money though. The pay out is $25. You have got to write lots and lots of articles. And you have got to know lots of different subjects to try to get in the top three if you want to make a little bit more money. Good luck and have fun writing.
