Plasma or LCD? I'm not looking to go any larger than 42". Our TV room has lots of windows so brightness is definitely a factor. The TV won't be left on constantly so I'm not so worried about burnt images, just mainly concerned about picture quality, viewing angle, and of course price

i'm no expert. so take this with a grain of salt, or consult the link below for more detailed information. picture, viewing angle, and brightness issues: plasmas will tend to give you better overall picture quality and viewing angle for your conditions, as LCD displays are not capable of acheiving a "true black" due to the technology employed. mind you, LCDs can achieve a higher resolution, but not achieving a "true black" contrast will only heighten the appearance of a washed out image suffering from brightness issues. think of a laptop display in direct sunlight to get a drastic example. so while both plasma screens and LCD displays will suffer from brightness issues in certain conditions, overall the plasma screen will likely perform better for your needs in that arena. cost and size: if you are looking to go with a set below 37", the LCD displays will likely be a bit more reasonable in price range. however, in the 42" area you will spend a pretty penny for an LCD, making the plasma screen a bit more forgiving on the pocket book. just some stuff to think about.
