Have you ever won anything in a competition of luck?

Like a lottery, or a click and win? All of you who use messenger plus with your Windows live Messenger would know about this. It was a click to find gifts type competition. Actually if you haven't seen me around much on my lot the past 4 or 5 days, it's because I've been clicking away like a maniac. I must have made over 5000 clicks in all the spots I could think of.. But realized maybe I'm not that 0.00009% of people that can be considered lucky in this. I mean people won ps3s and xbox 360's and me, well, even though in the end I really tried for the t-shirt too (because I really didn't wanna go empty-handed) turns out, me not so lucky, even with clues. But you gotta admit those odds are pretty tough. I mean the whole image was at least 700 x 750 pixels, and the prizes were only 52 and could be in any of those co ordinates, which makes your chance of winning a prize only 0.00009%, I know, pretty steep. But there are people out there who won... now that's luck. So did you try clicking away at this competition? Have you tried other luck competitions? Ever won anything?

Yeah, I know what you mean, I don't really buy lottery tickets or gamble, and now that I know I'm not that lucky, I probably shouldn't but I still love to enter competitions, and if they're free then I got nothing to lose, so there's no harm in it, is there? Plus I won't say I'm absolutely unlucky, I mean I have won things in the past, like concert tickets and movie tickets and stuff.

i am definitely one of those type of people who just never win at anything. Any contests or lucky draws of any sort. I can't remember a time in my whole life that i ever won anything.. even if it's at one of those kiddy birthday parties that i used to go to.. nope, never won "statue dance" or "musical chairs".. never had the luck i guess.. :) But i do know of this woman, my mom's friend, she wins at the lottery monthly at least.. there was a time when she won every week. She said she'll only win if the puts on a 1 or 2 bucks bet. But whatever it is, most people go through their whole lives betting on the 4 digit lottery and never win anything.. and here she is winning something every month. I wonder how she does it!! Everyone that knows her can't believe it either..

Well, I guess if it's "free" lotto then why not give it a try, you got nothing to lose, I don't spend anything on these luck things ever. But if it's free then I don't mind giving it a try.

I have won several prizes in drawings, but usually nothing that amounts to much. The most expensive thing that I won was a set of encyclopedias, around 14 years ago. I have won as much as $50 on lottery tickets, but I have usually spent a bit before I got the winning ticket so I never ended up being very much ahead. I have won T-Shirts, Hats, and various other odds and ends mostly.

Yeah, I've won around 300$ twice or thrice but that was from a quiz competition, I've never really bought anything to win something, because I don't think my luck's too good that way, but if it's a quiz, although some luck is also involved in that, but mainly it's the quiz part, so that's better for me.

Oh, that's nice. I guess it must feel better knowing that, I haven't really done any good stuff like that in my life, but I intend to.

The only ones I have ever bought were a few lottery tickets and a few raffle tickets that benefited one of my favorite charities. I rarely win them, but at least I know that the benefits from the raffle tickets are going to a good cause.

Yeah, exactly you can't give up. If you haven't won anything ever, yet, then it just means that your odds are getting better and it's your turn soon...

We have the lottery called Mark Six over here and you have to pick 6 numbers out of 49. When you hit 3 numbers right, then you get a tiny bonus and when you hit 4 numbers, you will get a bit more, and it goes up. I had never been lucky until last week. I hit 4 numbers right and I was so happy. But then I found out that hitting 4 numbers only get a fixed amount of around USD40, I was a little disappointed *laughs*. But it feels good to finally have some luck! It makes me feel "lucky" throughout the day. One thing I don't participate is lucky draw! My name just won't show up at all and I totally give it up!

Mark Six sounds good. congratulations for the win! I know it might not sound like much to other people, but I know that it feels great just to win, win anything. And 40$ is good enough, you can buy a whole outfit with that, if you go to the right place, it's just the feeling of "winning" and as you said the "lucky" feeling throughout the day that matters. Although, it would of course, feel better if you won something bigger, ha ha.

Yeah, the really really lucky people win the good and big stuff, but as long as we win, even little stuff, it will keep us happy.

Thanks *laughs*. Yes it feels wonderful to win and I had never won anything before, so it makes me feel special. I would definitely let you know if I win something bigger, but a person needs tons of good luck to win something really big.

I wore a particular outfit when I was the spelling bee for my elementary school when I was a child. I wore the same outfit again when I went to the next round, but only placed 3rd or 4th. I got so nervous.

Hello,vega83,i had joined a survey site few months ago and I could have chance to enter into lucky draw if i completed surveys and collected some credits for the draw, after i had done a couples of surveys,i received an email that i had won a cash prize of 50 dollar,i was a little bit skeptical about it in the first place, but i confirmed the email as i did not need to pay any upfront fees to get the prize, finally i got the 50 dollars.

Wow, good for you, 50$ is not a big amount, but any amount of won money is so good and feels great. I guess not all the stuff out there is a scam like most people believe it to be. It's good that we can have a ray of light like that..

Well, that's one way to stop hurting, or you could just enter competitions and wait till you finally win something to break this unlucky cycle. The way I see it is that if the entry is free then why not?
