Where'd you come from?

Where is everyone from? I'm a military brat myself, so I've moved around a lot. I was born in Warner Robins AFB, Georgia, moved to Andrews AFB, Maryland when I was 4, then to Fort Hood, Texas when I was 8. When I was 11 I moved to Misawa AFB, Japan, and finally moved to the Gulf Coast, Mississippi when I was about 14. I liked traveling, and wish to do some more in my life time.

Wow, you've been around haven't you?! lol I'm from Indiana. I lived in Georgia for less than a year when I was 6. And my husband is in the Army so we've also lived at Ft Hood, TX and Ft Riley, KS. But mostly I've lived in Indiana all my life.

Yeah, that is sad. I've always thought being a recruiter would suck for me, with my personality.

He's been in for 7 years. He's getting ready to get out though. This whole recruiting job has really gotten him turned off of being in the military. Kind of sad!

I was born in Bradford Co. PA, grew up in Bradford Co. PA, and yep you guessed it, still live in Bradford Co. PA. Nothing too exciting here. My s/o though was also a military brat. His dad did both Air Force and Army. I don't know the names of of the bases and posts but I know where they were. He was born in Clovis NM and spent the next few years back and forth between that base, one in California, and with his mom's family in back NM while his dad did tours in Vietnam. He also lived in New Jersey, Virginia, Germany and Alaska while still with his parents. Then he went to college in Colorado before moving here. His dad's family was from here originally and this is where they moved to after Alaska when he finally retired from the military for good. I have/had a niece with my ex-hubby that was born at Misawa AFB.

Travel? Haha no we don't, I wish we could though. We live about 6 miles from the New York state border so we go there often but other than that I haven't been to another state in almost 6 years! We left here at 8am and drove through Ohio, spent a couple hours in Michigan and drove back. We arrived home at 8am, 24 hours after we left. We should have been back sooner but the truck broke down. About two years before that we went to a wedding in Maryland and stayed 2 nights. I got horribly sick though and spent most of the time in our hotel room's bathroom. And then 10 years ago I flew to Florida on my senior class trip. As a child I went to all of the New England states except Maine and Vermont one summer but most were just for a day or two at a time.

Oh wow, not much traveling. I doubt that I'll be doing much traveling within the next few years, because of my husband. He's a momma's boy, and can't be too far away from him mom for to long. lol. We are going to Texas for my cousin's graduation in August! :) I'm excited about that! But after that, it'll probably be a long time before we go anywhere else.

I was born in small-town Kentucky, but I was what I like to call a hot-potato kid. I lived with various relatives, friends of the family, my friends... whoever would take me for a while. As a result, I wound up seeing 48 states (and a little bit of Canada and Mexico) before I turned 18, mostly for a few weeks or a couple of months at a time. I now live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I've lived for eight years now. I moved here after meeting my husband online, when I really needed a place to be. I don't think we plan on moving anytime soon, because we have some wonderful friends here, and it seems like a really nice place to raise our son. However, I would like to at least see Alaska and Hawaii so I can complete my U.S. state checklist someday, and there are several foreign countries I would love to visit.

Thats cool, I'm sure you've met many new people and have friends just about everywhere. I've been through a lot of the states, but not lived in all of them. Good luck on seeing Alaska and Hawaii!

A lot of people say it's cool, but I'd far rather have had a stable and safe home myself. Other people think my early life was exciting, but for me it was fraught with abuse, starvation, and often abandonment. I guess it comes down to learning to accept both the negatives and positives of the situation, which is something I'm still working on.

Yeah I guess so. I've learned to always look at the good side of everything, because no matter how bad things are, they could always be worse.

I live here in Bulacan, Philippines but before that we also moved a lot. I was born in Batanggas a provinlacce here in the Philippines. Then we moved to Manila when I was 7, then here in Bulacan. I also liked to travel. But I only visit places here in my country. I like visiting tourist spots and historical pes here in the Philippines. So far I've only visited a few but I plan to visit more if I got time.

That's good that you visit historical places in your country, many people won't go to tourist spots and historical places of their own country, city or state.

I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Actually within a 10 mile radius of the airport except for the year I lived in Greenwood. I have been in Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, N. Carolina, Pennslvania, and New York. Out side of the States, I have been to Casablanca and Rabat, Morocco, Nouakchott, Mauritania and Dakar, Senegal in North West Africa. I may be moving to Mauritania within the next few months. I have also been in the Paris, France Airport. I want to visit Germany, Spain, France, England, Denmark, Middle East and many, many more countries. I want to explore the world.

How terrible. I pity you. You poor person had to move so much and never could find a real home and always had to live behind fences and bars. You probably had to live with this terrible borrowed military furniture. I am from Berlin, Germany and this is my hometown where I live and I want to stay here as I like it so much.

Well I love it. The Gulf Coast is where my parents and Grandparents are from, so throughout the years I was gone, I still came here to visit all the time. Traveling was fun, I never lived behind bars. The only place that was "fenced" in was the Air Base in Japan, but we were still able to go off base all the time. It was a wonderful learning experience I think.
