lucky you.... i have a 8 year old son I'd let him do them but I'm afraid I'd be eating off soapy plates and drinking out of soapy cups... Thats the last thing i need to be eating soap....lol

How 'bout coming to my house and getting my 10 and 14 year olds to wash the dishes? LOL! They only do it when they want to be mature and impress other people, but not when Mom and Dad are around to do the job.

I usually put everything that fits into the dishwasher and I wash all the pots and pans aswell as anything that is not dishwasher safe by hand. Sometimes I have to rewash things by hand because food residue gets baked on which makes them even harder to clean that they would have been in the first place.

nothing wrong with putting everything in there but having to rewash them i wouldn't really like that idea i think i'd pre rinse them and than put them in the diswasher.

When we moved into this house it had a 1/2 size dishwasher. I had never seen one of those before. We used it for a couple of years and then it started leaking. It is still in our kitchen as it is part of our cupboard but we wash all our dishes by hand now. I hate it because we have two round ceramic sinks. They are not as big as most sinks and don't hold as much so I can't even wash a full load of dishes at once. I have to stop and do some drying to make room in the rack before I can finish the dishes, or DH and I work together. What I would love more than anything is a complete kitchen makeover - more cupboards, new sinks, and a dishwasher.

A kitchen make over oh thats sounds nice, i need one of those too, a bigger kitchen would be good for me anyway i mean i can't even have a table in mine it's more off to the side but it's nice i shouldn't complain lol

i have not seen a dishwasher before and don't know how it works.Really! Its not common to use here.Wasing dishes by hand is the simplest and more cleaner as its by hands.hehe.To kill the boredom by washing dishes..hmm,im not that type..better do other things other than that!Washing dishes is one daily activities to do after eating.

You have never seen a dishwasher before?? Ok you must not be from the US than lol alot of people here use them it just basically cleans your dishes but some dishwashers don't clean them all the way.. Yes washing them by hand is better cause than you get everything off them.

here, we have no choice but to wash the dishes by hands, dishwasher is not very popular here. but we do have helpers, but sometimes i do wash the dishes myself, like you said, to pass the time. not only that, though we have helper , i also wash my own clothes, not by hands though, by washing machine

Though it's the least house chore I'd do, I wash the dish by hand. We cannot afford to buy one of those dishwashers, so we either wash it with our bare hands or with gloves. I guess there's no difference between washing dish with hands or by dishwasher, so we'd prefer a little exercise by doing dishes with our hands!;)

Hand washing dishes is the way to go for me. We don't have a dishwasher either, we live in a small apartment, so we have to wash them by hand. When I lived with my parents in their home, I used to use their dishwasher cause it was so simple, but now it's strictly washing them by hand for me.

I use both methods. Pots, Pans, and anything plastic like tupperware I wash by hand. Then everything else. Plates, cups, silverware, and bowls go in the dishwasher. Best of luck!
