Are you happy with the majority of decisions you've made in your life?

I'm not. I tend to constantly go back and say"what if", or "why did I", or "why didn't I", or "if only". I know it's irrelevant, but past decisions still haunt me. Especially when it's something that involves losing someone, or something that I love. All this does, is make me more depressed, but I still can't help it.

I can't say that I've made all the right decisions in my entire life. I know I've made mistakes. I have had my regrets. But I've learned from those mistakes. I rarely try to go back and ask myself a series of "what ifs". I stick to the decisions I make now, so I make sure I make the right decisions. That way I won't have another regret in my life.

I personally would like to change most of them! LOL! My choices turned out so wrong! I've had many opportunities go down the drain because of my bad choices. The only thing i can do now is use my past as a learning experience. I have a gift that was given to me and that is to count my blessings! That is one thing that helps me through the bad times. Take care Brendakaya.

Some of us are stubborn! We tend to make some same mistakes with the same results! LOL!

Yes, we can use our past as a learning experience, and hopefully not make the same mistakes again. Although, I sometimes make similar choices and then kick myself for it later.

You know, I am only 23 years old, but when I do look back at the path my life has taken up until this point, I really can't help but be happy with the direction that my life has taken. There have been a few situations which I can't help but second guess, but they have all worked to help me be the person that I am, so I really can't complain about it. They definitely don't "haunt me" or stick, but every now and then I wonder softly to myself "what if?" It's natural, I think, but it all worked out great for me.

I'm glad to hear you're happy with your life. I guess I've always just been a depressed pessimist. I tend to feel bad forever about things. lol

There are many decisions that I made in my life that I am not happy with. And I have done the "what if" thing too many times to count. But I have taken on the perspective of looking at everything that has happened to me as a learning experience. Sure, I wish things had gone differently in my life. But at least now, I can live my life in the manner I like, without all of the mistakes that I made before. I now know what I want and I know how to get it.

I don't go back & say - what ifs too much because I just don't have that much energy. I'm not especially happy with some of my decissions, but I made them & I'm just going to have to live with them.

I like your comment about not having that much energy. Do you thing my dwelling on all my past mistakes is the reason I don't have any energy? lol

Yes I am happy with the decisions I have made in my life. I look at it this way. Where I am in my life is the happiest I have ever been. In the past I have had my fair share of bad decisions, but had I not made those decisions I might not be where I am today. I wouldn't change what I have now for the world. I have a loving husband, two beautiful kids of my own, and a wonderful stepson. I am a firm believer that things happen in life for a reason. You have to learn from your mistakes and move on.

I think maybe a large part of my dwelling on my past mistakes is because I'm not happy with the way my life turned out. I'm in a marriage, but it's not a happy one, and since I suffer from depression, every little thing seems to bother me. Sorry to be such a downer.

There are times when I wish I had done things differently but then think I may not have been such a fighter or strong or developed the vision and dreams I have today. I would not have met you lovely guys on Mylot if it wasn't the need to do something to help my Hubby. I know what you are going through is hard but at least you know you have your friends here and I haven't forgotten my surprise for you..I have been so busy.I have to now go and cook and collect my nieces from school but I will be back and will pm you your surprise!Massive hug from your mad Greek in pissing sown with rain as usual London!!!

If I knew now, what I didn't know growing up there'd be alot of stuff I would have changed. But there's no way to change those choices now so I try to look at the best side of things and keep going...trying to make better decisions as I go along. !!HAPPY EASTER!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
