Homicides soar in East Coast cities

I think I agree with you lol. I read the article, and I don't buy the whole the immigrants make the poor people feel better as a whole cr*p. Now, if these were immigrants that were being targeted-which is common because illegal aliens usually deal in cash transaction, and usually have large amounts of cash on them, then I'd buy what they were saying. But to say lack of immigrants or illegal aliens is causing everyone else to kill each other, just ridiculous. I personally would attribute it to economics-look at all the homes going into foreclosure now, and like the article mentioned-lack of policing. If you have your cops guarding government buildings, and stepping up patrol in those areas, it's going to get bad in the other areas. That to me makes a lot more sense.

I think key to that statement is that the immigrants they are referring to as hardworking and live in decent communities are not ILLEGAL aliens. The illegal are the law breakers. Most immigrant who come to this country legally want to get decent job and raise their families to be potential citizens and earn their way to that end .

They are blaming the Lack of new immigrants? That is interesting! But, I don't know if I would say that this is the cause of all the homicides. It sure it interesting that on the first day of summer, meaning in just one day, six people were killed in Philadelphia in only three shootings!!! I know that I am not going to visit the east coast anytime soon! All of the homicides have increased!!! Ahhh...:|

I don't buy that theory at all! Have these people never been through Houston,TX at all? There are many,many immigrants (legal and illegal) and the crime is scary! I made the mistake of getting lost in one of the poorer sections of that town...talk about hair-raising! This story sounds like a good bit of the killing is done by gangs/drive by shootings. How exactly does that fit in with the immigrant theory? Sure, the parents may be concerned with working and being law-abiding...what about the kids that get into the gangs? I am also not making the connection after reading about the guy who was shot over a parking space. How is having more immigrants going to help situations like that? The unemployment rates cited are frightening. Maybe they should worry less about bringing more people INTO the area and more about having jobs for the people already there. Desperation can make you do stupid things.
