Do you cook a full-course meal for every meal? Maybe you only cook a full-course meal on special occassions. Other then special occassions, I find that it takes up too much time. What do you think?

when everybody in the family can get home early and enjoy together for dinner so i will absolutely prepare a full-course meal. or just to make sure there will be garden fresh salad or stir-fried vegetables; any pork or beef or chicken or seafood dish for main course; soup and noodles or i can have rice. great desserts like ready-to-bake brownies or cake or the bought pastries and ice cream is really fun for all!

I believe if you're going to take the time out to prepare a big meal, then everyone should be together to enjoy it and to communicate with each other.

I almost never cook a full meal. Usually I just sort of throw together stuff. Sometimes all we eat is a salad. Or we just have fish with rice. Often we have chili or a stew. It seems like we never have the time to make a full meal.

Now thats what I tend to do. With my work schedule,it's almost impossible to cook big meals.

Sometimes I'll make a huge meal even when it isnt a special occasion but I'm more inclined to do that during the cooler months rather than in the hot months...I dont work though so being a SAHM I have the time to pull things like that off and I actually enjoy it...LOL and of course the family does too :-D

That's a big thing! Staying away from the hot stove and oven during the hot summer months. What is a SAHM?

I rarely ever cook big meals. It just doesn't make sense for my little family of three, since my son still doesn't eat too many different types of food, and my husband and I work opposite schedules. We're just never all eating the same thing at the same time anyway, which is complicated more by the fact that both my husband and I have different dietary restrictions because of health issues. Once my son is older, I hope to do a lot more cooking, so that we can have big family meals sometimes we can all enjoy. In the meantime, my husband and I are experimenting with ways to combine our own diets, and still follow all of our restrictions. Our most recent experiment was low-sodium chili, which didn't come out as well as expected, and is going to be a recipe we work on until we get it right.

I understand what you're saying. When the time comes, I'm sure will have it all figured out. Take care of those health issues. Good luck with the chili!
