why do cats always land on their feet?

I watched a documentary that explained animal phenomena like this before and it says that cats have extremely flexible spines, and when they fall they immediately twist their bodies to land on their feet!

I think its becoz their feet are the ones which touch the ground first, thats y they land on their feet.................... Ha ha..............
