Do you believe in true friendship ? Or do you feel that at times your friends take you for granted

I think all friends no matter how close they are will sometimes take you for granted because it's natural to have a degree of self-centredness, and people have other commitments to direct energy to besides expressing appreciation. But then again your friends could actually be very appreciative, and you just feel that you're not getting enough appreciation. I believe this doesn't really matter to true friends, because (okay this sounds cheesy but) true friends appreciate and love you for who you are rather than what you do for them. Like even if you haven't done anything for them or talked to them for a long time they'll still care for you all the same.

I think true friendship has each of you taking the other for granted at times. My sister and I are best friends. At times she needs to lean on me for support and she can be just thinking of herself, but because she needs to at the time. At times I need help and am only thinking of myself and she will be there for me. I think if it is one sided were it is only one person always needing help and the other always being taking for granted then it is not balanced and not a true friendship. There is give and take in any true good relationship but it should be equal.

I do believe in true friendship, because what should we believe if we don't believe everything? I have a friend and we trust each other and keep our friendship safe. I think that's a true friendship..., Do you have a friend whom you believe in her/him? if you do, you must believe in true friendship.
