Do you take time to chat with friends through some type of messenger..Which one is your preferred messenger .I think messengers have their plus and minus points;)+

Yeah, I do chat with friends on messenger. Both online and real friends. We tend to have more time in front of the pc that's why we communicate much much faster and easier if we're online. I use yahoo more. Plus a little bit of Skype. Plus points with messenger is that communication is free and clear, because you just type what you want to say. Minus points is that you become lazy. Instead of meeting up with someone and have a decent chitchat, you are just contented on sitting down and talking through the net. I think this takes off the sense of 'personal touch' since we prefer more to talk online than to meet and mingle.

Well, I guess if the chance for the more "personal touch" is not available, you must choose the next best thing: phone, email or messenger. I personally think it's safer writing my communications but other times even that can be adjusted with the delete button and a swoop of the mouse;)+

Yeah, I guess so. It's just sometimes, even if there is a chance for 'personal touch' we tend to go for the robotic touch for now. hahaha.. Kinda reminds me of the movie transformers. Whew great movie. Anyways, that's it. I use all types of mediums online. But I wish it would be face-to-face without any gadgets. Thanks for the comment.

i use to chat a lot on messenger when orkut was not so famous. but since i loged in to orkut i have almost stopped chatting on other messengers. i think orkut is the best way to have friends and also to interact with them .i tis real fun and also with the communities you can also get valuable information. all n all in all depends how a person want sto use a technology. i have few friends who learned a lot in webdesign and aniamtion throught these communitie. they are ver goog source for sharing info and so i dnt find any use of messenger now. i guess tey are history for doign time pass. communication is ok

If it was popular, it must have been some state other then the one I am in. I don't recall icq being promoted either on net or tv;)+

I'm a chat addict my self and I prefer to chat using mIRC. Yahoo! Messenger is very popular too when it comes to voice conference, webcam chat, and the like but it is more likely to be targeted by worms and all that so I'd still go for mIRC.

I don't know that I am familiar with mIRC. I will have to do a search engine look up on this. What exactly is this?:)+

Could be cloud_kicker you are putting your computer on overload. All those software take a big portion of memory. If you limit yourself to one ..delete the others your pc wont crash as much. The other alternative is to add more memory to your computer;)+

I used to have yahoo and msn messenger. Before i have aim but its not popular with my country. I have icq too. I prefer to use them because of its benefits. Instant communication, real time, safe and fast. Really a friendly program.

As I mentioned above..Each messenger you download and use uses lots of space and memory. If you can, you should keep only one and delete the rest:)+

i chat to my friends though MSN..just because it is easy, fast and reliable... i dont have to pay for it or anything like i would have to on a phone and can talk to them fast..;x... i will also know if they are there..if i phone them...they might not pick up. it doesn't really have any bad point in my view...i mean, everything works alright and nothing ever fails on it...apart from if i disconnect but that is the connection's fault...

I use yahoo, msn, and myspace messengers. I chat mostly on yahoo messenger, but I use msn messenger mostly. I dont chat much on msn. I use it mostly because I am a computer technician and I fix computer problems for my customers and friends using the remote assistance feature. Never have chatted on the myspace one. Not really sure why I even keep that one. Just too lazy to get rid of it I guess. LOL

If you are a computer technician you must know that keeping the messengers on the computer is eating up your memory and space..I would say dump the ones you are not using;)+

Actually, as long as I am not running them as tsr (terminate and stay resident) they dont use any memory. As for the space they occupy, I currently have 5 hard drives, and the smallest on is 200 gigabytes. I am not logged into them unless I am specifically looking to communicate with someone. Actually, that is not true. I am always logged into windows messenger (a.k.a. msn messenger) because that is the one I use to do remote repairs for my customers. The rest I am normally logged out of, and I exit them from the task bar. Therefore they are not using any memory until I chose to use them.

yeah i communicate with friends alot on messengers. I have yahoo and Aim messenger on my cell phone so i am always using them. But i think yahoo is my favorite. Usually all my friends are busy and they also have the messengers on their phones so thats how me mainly communicate and through text messaging. Text messaging is awesome because sometimes you just don't feel like talkin. lol
