Hello all! I'm from Finland and im curious, what do you know about this "cold country". If you don't know anything you can also answer what have you heard others saying about Finland. But now i give some facts: -Yes, Finland is in northern europe next to russia and sweden -No, here is not any polar bears whatsoever. -No, its not always cold here only at winters. Those are the most things i have heard about Finland from strangers lately :). Soo, come to answer, dont be shamed if you don't know much :) This is pretty unknown country to anyone.

Well, I can't say I know anything about the geography, but I do know that there are some of the greatest rock bands that come from that area. HIM, The 69 Eyes, Caliban...They're awesome! There's got to be something in the water there, because you people rock.

Hi ertzinas, just got back from a trip to Finland and found it a wonderful place. I must admit I expected it to be a bit colder, but it was between 30 and 35 degrees the whole 9 days I was in your beautiful country. The Finnish hospitality was second to none, we were shown how to fully appreciate the sauna (the lakes are freezing!) and how you guys like a drink or two!!!!! It is a place I hope to return to again very soon. To all Suomi people, Kiitos from Jake.

To be honest I don't know anything about Finland and that is sad on my part, I am from Australia and I just don't see much written about Finland at all, I am sure like everywhere your country has so much to offer but somewhere along the line doesn't get much airplay so to speak, or maybe these days it is the wisest thing to do, to keep your country a secret and then the bad elements of this world won't invade your lovely land....

It's so nice to meet a friend from Finland here:) I like your country, because it's so beautiful. It seems it has less populations. Your country has a fame for "A country has thousands of lakes". Although it seems many people don't know the fact, Nokia is from Finland. So I think besides its natural beauty, your country is very advanced in technology.

I know Nokia which got a factory in the city i am working in now (Suzhou China), Helsinki is the captital city and a wonderful city. Finland is also one of the richest country in the wolrd where people share the great welfares from the government. Most People i know in China treat Finland a nicer country than others.

I didn't know anything about Finland before I came here. I knew it was near Sweden, and it's cold, that's about all. I think probably people might know Nokia is from here. But that's about all. I think people outside Europe don't know much about Finland.. Anyway, here are some pointers about what you can tell your friends or geography teachers about Finland if you don't know anything about it:D: * Santa lives here (well the Santa Village is officially here, so I guess he's Finnish?:P) * You will see reindeer (up north, Santa lives up north too) * You will see more slightly bearded guys other than Santa (its common for older men) * People speak mostly Finnish (surprise!), but most can speak English quite well too. *The air is clean, and there are many trees. *It's pretty quiet here.

Ive heard that it is a very cold country and the winter is very long. Finland also claims to be the place where Santa Claus lives. It is the origin of the cellphone company 'nokia'. Saunas originated in Finland.

When I chatted with my foreign teacher about where we would like to visit in the future,he strongly recommend Finland to me.He said Finland is the most clean place in the world, both the environment and the human relationship. He told us last time he paid a visit to Finland,he drove for miles without seeing any litter on the road including falling leaves. He was hooked to the harmony between human and nature.Als he told me Finland has very low crime rate rather than other developed places, you will worry about nothing there, just enjoy.I am really eager to go there one day!
