Nope, I don't snore when I sleep and never had any complained that I do. I too can't sleep when someone who snores too loud, I do the same thing you do tap the person until they moved and turned. :-)

Hello fredgame!(",) Normally, I don't snore but when I'm really tired then, there are times that I snore. The question is, why do we snore? Here is the explanation... The sound you hear when someone is snoring is caused by the vibration of relaxed, floppy tissues that line the upper airway. Here’s how it works. When you sleep, muscle tone throughout your body decreases. All the muscles in your body relax. Your upper airway is lined with muscles that keep the airway open. When those muscles relax during sleep, the diameter of the airway decreases and, in some people, this partially blocks the airflow, leading to turbulence. Instead of air flowing smoothly down the airway into the lungs, it flows with gusts and bursts. As the air travels through the airway, it picks up speed and gets whipped around in all different directions. As the air bounces around, it hits the relaxed, floppy tissues lining the throat and causes them to vibrate, kind of like a flag in the wind. This is the snoring sound. People don’t make a snoring sound when they are awake because the muscles in the throat hold the airway open wide enough for a smooth flow of air into the lungs. We snore more as we get older because our muscles become increasingly flaccid with age. Gaining weight can increase snoring because fat deposits accumulate in the tissues of the airway, making them heavier so they fall more into the line of airflow. Great day!(",)

I don't snore when I sleep but my husband does. He does it sometimes only and it's not too bad. Thank God. I know how this can be a big problem when you have to sleep close to someone who snores. I guess if you can't block the sound by putting something in your ears then you need to sleep in another room. That's the only solution. Good luck and have a nice day!

My wife and son told me that I snore when I have fallen asleep. Sometimes I can feel that and I have to admit this. I still remember that for a few times when I was living in a hotel with somebody in the same room, the guy next to me was snoring loudly driving me crazy. I just couldn't fall asleep and had to turn on the TV to cover his snoring noise to make me fall asleep. I felt so painful for that. Even the sound of TV couldn't make him awake and stop making noise. I felt so tired and sleepy the next day. Oh, my. So I can understand how you feel when sleeping with somebody in the same room who snores. Too bad. Have a good sleep, fredgame.

I hear a lot of people say that they don't snore, but you never really know for sure... My sister's ex-husband swore that he didn't but was shocked when I recorded him and played it back for him to hear how loudly he really did snore. I have a son who also insisted that he didn't snore. Since you don't usually hear yourself because you are sleeping, you don't always know until someone tells you so don't be surprised if some day someone tells you that you do. Anyway, I admit that I snore and so do my two youngest sons. When they were younger they used to sleep in the same room with me. Now they sleep in another room, but on a bad night, I can still hear them. Usually I just roll over and go to sleep anyway though. Unless it is extremely loud, I generally don't let it bother me too much.

I don't snore but my husband does have a loud snoring. In the past I minded it and it's quite annying for me. My husband said I could sleep at first and he would sleep later. So that his snoring wouldn't bother me. After time goes by, I get used to it and I have to fall asleep while he is snoring:)

I don't think that I snore, but my fiance does sometimes. Usually I can just nudge him to get him to stop, but last night it was really bad, so I held his nose. It made him have to breathe differently, so he stopped snoring. I hate having to do that to him, but if he won't move, and I can't sleep, I have to do something about it! :)

I usually don't snore when I'm asleep unless I'm really really tired. I can't sleep with someone who snores so much. But I've gotten used to my hubby's snoring by now. But he also tries not to snore now by sleeping on his side. Whenever I wake up and hear him snoring I would tap or shake him gently until he shifts or moves to his side and then he stops snoring then.
