Anybody had something published

I've always wanted to write a book. At the moment I'm so brain dead that just getting through the day is hard let alone think about putting all these ideas in order to make a half decent book. Has anybody been successful and managed to get published? Where did you start, was it easy? I'm sorry if this has already been discussed but the search function on myLot is not working at the moment. dreamjapan

What type of book are you thinking of putting together? Fiction, nonfiction? I've written and published a novel, short stories and many articles. Getting published is not easy, but don't let that stop you. Right now worry about getting your book written. Then you have to rewrite, rewrite, rewrite. Then query editors and agents. Write and read daily. I wish you the best...

I want to write fiction, especially for kids/teens. I'm always telling stories to my kids, some are things which happened in my childhood or my Moms childhood. Some I make up. My youngest son is making up a story about a toy he has, I'm helping him to write it out. I'm amazed at his imagination amd I wonder where mine went to. Maybe I'm just to tired and stressed at the moment to be able to put things together but I think your point of writing and reading daily is good advice!! Thanks.

I'm not a published writer, but I do have to say that I'm in the same situation as you, useless to find a good idea. I've been trying for months now to come up with something that doesn't sound generic, but it's near impossible with all the books I read. I want something that isn't already on the shelves, but that's going to be hard. I wish you luck with an idea, and I hope you get the advice you need.

Yup, I am published writer and I am very proud of it. I have been published in magazines and I once wrote a 150-page guidebook. I also write articles for different websites. I am happy to be compensated for a job I enjoy.
