My ancestory goes to Ireland. We are from the Wexford Province on the East Coast. I have yet to go there but I am looking forward to my trip there which is scheduled for december 28, 2008. I hope it's as fun and beautiful as I am told.

Ireland is the only place I've ever called "home". I first went there in 1987 with my dad and grandma. We did the 8 day/7 night bus tour throughout the country. I then went back 4 times between 1995-1997. I spent most of my time in Dublin and Dun Laoghaire. My dad's grandfather (my great-grandfather) is from County Kilkenny. He came to the US in 1898 from the port in Queenstown, Ireland to NY Ellis Island. Doing ancestory research in Ireland is very difficult in that many records across the country were destroyed by fires over the centuries. So, unless your extended family has kept good records, it's going to be rough going. The folks in Ireland are extremely outgoing and love to chat. They are very relaxed and easy going. I think the going rate of exchange is right around $1.75 for every 1 pound (punt). I wish I could squeeze into one of your suitcases and hitch a ride. I miss that place dearly!
