How to make beer or malt liquors

Brewing kits - What kind of recipes do I need to make my own wine coolers?

Hubby and I were enjoying our wine coolers last evening (OK, they were a Bacardi RAZ) when he asked me what the difference between beer and wine coolers really was. What's the ingredient in beer that isn't present in the coolers? Is it the processing/brewing? We are seriously thinking about starting to brew some of our own, but we're not sure if we'd like beer (not a favorite choice) or wine. If we could create our own malt liquors that would be most excellent!So, besides my original question, does anyone have brewing recipes or websites for the brewing recipes that they'd like to share?
