By this, I mean have you ever told them that a certain food was something different to get them to eat, or not to eat a certain food? Here is an example... There used to be a 7-11 down the street that had these awesome bakery wrap things, it was like bread with pepperoni in the middle of it, and I didnt want to share with the kids. So I ended up telling them it was squirrel to try to get them not to like it. It didnt work, and they always wanted a bite of it when I got it!

Yes I have lied to my children about certian foods being something else. My favorite one is telling them that fried fish are chicken nuggets.Because they won't even try the fish if they knew what it was.Its even better when they actually like it and then you tell them what it really is then you get the satisfaction of saying I told you, you would Like it!!!

Yup, I have done that with my middle child, had him eat sushi or something like that without telling him what it was. Then he says he likes it, it is like victory!

Sometimes kids dont seem to understand that they cannot just eat the things that they like. I keep telling mine that when I was a kid, we ate what was cooked or we went hungry. There were not the choices that kids seem to have today.

yes, i have a few times. i do this if the food isn't for babies/toddlers (e.g., soda, candies, etc). i just tell my daughter it's spicy. she'll then stop asking for it.

LOL!!! I used to have to tell them that fish sticks were chicken because none of them wanted to eat fish. We had a huge fish tank and they thought I was dragging the fish out of the tank and cooking them up. The funniest part was when the oldest was starting to read and he saw the huge box of fish sticks in the freezer. I had to give him a dollar to keep him quiet and not tell the other kids. To this day it is a long running joke with everyone about the "fishy chicken sticks".

NO...hehehe..I have three kids, and I make sure that my kids can eat all the food that I cook for them. Sometimes my eldest daughter went to her grandfather, and we cooked banana, so what I did...I left something for her so she can still eat it when she arrives. Food is for the whole family of course.
