Here in Australia, on our Drivers Liscense there is an option to donate your organs or not and it clearly states your choice. Yet, there is nothing about blood, your blood group or anything like that. What if you were in a major acccident and need blood, do they not care about saving you or do they just care about getting your body parts....This dosnt make sense to me, whats your opinion about this, do you have anything like this in your country ?

We do have the choice to opt in to the organ donors register and it can be displayed on your driving license if you are! I think it is really important to let your family know if you wish to be an organ donor - that way they can tell the hospital what you want! I think your idea of having blood type on your driving license is a fantastic one - it could save lives and is very simple to do xxx

I just really dont understand how it all works....If you are injured and need blood at the scene, do you have to maybe hold onto fate until they get you to the hospital...

Well I think ambulances can give you fluid to replace blood loss short term but they can also radio ahead to inform of blood type and what is needed - so it really could speed up the process if they knew your blood type straightaway! xxx

I think people with rhesus negative blood wear an alert. As for other blood, I'm sure they would have to check the match anyway. They surely can't go by what's on your license, just in case. I believe I heard once that a lot of bikers have their blood type tattooed on their body somewhere. That's a good idea, I guess.

You have raised a very good point. I agree with you and I also think that blood group must invariably be mentioned in License etc.. I think here in India, on many of our Identity Cards etc., individual's blood group is mentioned.

we have the same thing in the u.s. and I don't think ours states anything other than whether or not you want to donate. I think that they must have medical records that show everything or maybe they just assume you or your family know it. I don't know about anyone else but I don't know my blood type.

That is a really good point!! I have honestly never thought of that! Unless there is a test that they somehow manage to do very quickly! I doubt it though. Also, did you know that they no longer have that organ donor section on our drivers licence? There is a separate form that you get from Medicare for that now.
