It depends on what you're used to, methinks. There was a time when I thought keys should be arranged in alphabetical order. But since I've been touch-typing for about thirteen years now, I prefer the QWERTY. :)

I'm not sure anyone alive today knows why QWERTY was invented, but the Wikipedia has some interesting suggestions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTY Salute!

b)the keys should be in the prsent state itself..bcoz our mind have been set to work with these arrangement of keys...if the keys are arranged in some other order,we would have some difficulties to work with it..my wish the keyboard should be changed into microphone..our spoken words should be converted into texts in the monitor..its very difficult of typing in keyboard...

It seems that if it was alphabetized then we would all have to learn another system. I am not sure why this type set was chosen, I am sure there was some reason and it wasn't random. Well thanks for asking me about that, have a nice day.

Back when I didn't know how to type with both hands, I thought the letters should be changed and placed in alphabetical order, it didn't make sense to me why the letters where all jumbled up. But when I started learning how to type using both hands without looking at them, I realized that the placement of the letters are there for a reason, they're not just jumbled. The letters that one uses most often (the common letters in other words) are placed in spots that are easiest to reach while your hands are in position. Notice how the Z and X are in the most uncomfortable spot to reach? Because those letters aren't very common. I like the keyboard setting and appreciate it more now that I know that there were reasons behind the placement of the letters. No change, I say! :)

I think it would be hard for me it the placement of the letter keys will be changed. I happy and used to with the present one and I think it does'nt need changing. Its good that manufacturers are changing the design and shape to make it more ergonormical so as to help our hands and wrist while typing.
