Does the recent terrorism activity in England and Scotland scare you?

Do the bomb discoveries in London make you worried about living and working in the City? Does the bomb attack at Glasgow's airport worry you? Do you feel more or less safe about travelling, regardless of whether you live in the UK or not?

Well those of us who live here in London are somewhat used to it! I was at school in the 70's during the IRA bombings, and my Father was a child in the Second World War, with air raid sirens and bombings every night for years. I was also at Edgware Tube Station when the 7/7/bombs went off, so we are pretty used to these kind of terrorist activities, and try to carry on as normal as much as possible. Perhaps that's where we are very unlike people in the USA, where 9/11 was their first real taste of terrorism on their own soil. Of course the thought that the terrorists might strike at any time is obviously on our minds, but it sure won't let us stop leading our normal lives...... things like Wimbledon tennis and the Princess Diana Memorial Concert went ahead as usual in London, because to change/cancel anything that people had looked forward to for months would be a real victory for the terrorists. So my answer to your question is - NO - I don't feel intimated or scared - Londoners are made of sterner stuff:-))

Our government tells us we are endangered, too. They expect evil just like in England. I am not worried a bit. I just lead my life as always. I am not getting scared by the press. Every year they pick something new that is supposed to be life threatening. One year it is AIDS, one year it is mad cow disease, one year it is global warming, this year it is terrorism. I was tired of all the stories. I am still alive. I still eat beef. I will lead my life as always and I do not give a damn any more what the press or the officials release.
