It’s Over - Stefano Summons Sami “We see a family that has fallen into disarray because of the illness of their leader, Stefano,” begins Co-Executive Producer Stephen Wyman of the situation the DiMeras find them selves in. “It’s a story of two brothers who are at each other’s throats and the father, who is almost too weak to mediate between them.” This week, EJ delivers the happy news to Stefano that Elvis has fathered Sami’s twins. The Phoenix is thrilled and insists that the children be raised as DiMeras. “Elvis’s reaction is, ‘That’s all well and good but Samantha wants a deal,’” says Joseph Mascolo (Stefano_). “Stefano tells him the he already made whatever deal he was going to make with her. At this point, Stefano wonders how much he can trust Elvis. It’s a very difficult situation for him to accept.” Tony isn’t happy with his little brother’s disloyalty, either, and berates EJ. An argument ensues, which leads to Stefano collapsing. Dr. Rolf informs the men that Stefano has taken a turn for the worse and desperately needs the stem cells. EJ implores Stefano to make the deal with Sami and end the feud. “The issue of the stem cells is rally a story about how much Sami is willing to sacrifice because she becomes convinced that this sacrifice might actually be a way of improving relations,” points out Wyman. Alison Sweeney (Sami) says “It’s a hard place to be in. She wants to do this for her family, to kind of make up for everything she’s done in the past, but at the same time, she doesn’t want to be involved with this creepy family. With his back seemingly against the wall, Stefano agrees to see Sami. “Stefano says, ‘Okay, you want this so badly? Get a hold of Samantha and bring her to me,’? previews Mascolo. ”Elvis reads that as Stefano saying he’ll make a deal with her and end the feud. Elvis leaves and then Stefano tells Tony that he doesn’t think he can trust Elvis. Stefano is very hurt by this. “Stefano knows that love of that kind that EJ has for Sami makes a man weak, so he has to distance himself from EJ,” explains Wyman. “We see that EJ is more and more drawn to, let’s say the good side, because he knows that Sami is on the good side and he doesn’t want any harm to come to her.” But there’s a good chance it will, since Stefano has no intention of calling a truce. “What he says to Tony is that he’s not going to beg anybody for anything, including the stem cells and least of all a Brady,” declares Mascolo. “He doesn’t five a damn. He’d rather die than be beholden to theose people. So he’s going to keep Elvis running in circles so he and Tony can straighten some stuff out. In the meantime, Elvis is sneaky enough to be out theres and listening to Tony and Stefano, so he’l be aware of it.” Will the feud ever end? “It’s hard to tell and I think that’s interesting,” says Mascolo. “Stefano obviously made this pact with his father and he’s willing to carry it through to the very end. If that means knocking down every Brady, then he’ll do it. I have a feeling with Stefano that if it behooves him to smooth the vendetta out a little, like a chess game, he’ll see who makes what moves and act accordingly. But I don’t think the vendetta will ever be totally over.” Plus the end of the feud might bring the Bradys more than they bargained for. “Stefano keeps saying that hen the truth comes out, its’s not going to be pleasant and the Brady’s won’t be able to stand it,” notes Mascolo of the secret that would break the Bradys’ hearts.” Adds Wyman, “That’s really what the mystery is: What could the Bradys possibly find out that will make things worse for them instead of better?
