A little. Sometimes you just listen to the music and forget about the roads, and that can be dangerous. Actually, the best is to listen to it on a good and harmless sound, so you can listen to the other sounds like cars horns and stuffs.

I think its harmful if you play it extremely loud because you can't hear whats going on.Like fire truck, police sirens and people blowing the horn and may cause an accident.I think that is how it may be harmful.

I am not sure if it's harmful or not but for sure we can turn crazy with the loud music. I hope it will not break my ears even I am sure it wouldn't. I guess it is in the category of sound polution or something like that.

Most performing artists who are going to use any high volume at all at a concert will choose to wear ear protection. I notice that people doing loud jobs (with machinery, around planes, etc.) will also use ear protection. Therefore, it must be more than a rumor that loud sounds can cause hearing damage--and what I hear rattling and booming from cars these days certainly OVERqualifies as loud! I would have to say, "Yes!" and be very confident that I've given you the correct answer!

If it's so loud you can't hear what's going on outside the car,it could well be damaging your hearing..it would be a definite yes if you have a highly modified sound system in the car :)

Hi Kudeshi! I think it would depend on how loud you consider loud. When my husband was much younger, he would listen to his music at a very loud level in his car and for long periods of time. I'm pretty sure it has contributed to his reduced hearing now that he's older even though he claims it's more a matter of selective hearing, lol. :)

I think loud music can harm your hearing. But I do prefer listening to loud music in my car because I get sleepy sometimes especially before and after my work. The route and trafic is always the same boring thing, that is why I get sleepy. Loud music helps me stay awake.
