Tags on Mylot

I used to go mad with my tagging, putting every appropriate word that I could think of. Now I just use one or two words, to give other people the chance to add a tag of their own.
Have you altered your pattern of tagging in this way, or do you indeed bother to tag at all?

From the replies so far it seems that the more experience we have on mylot the less tags we apply. I still think they are useful for those that want to use them though.

It is so that people can find the discussions again more easily, I think. I just reply to all the replies I get in my in box then nosey around seeing what else attracts my attention, but I think when people are short of time it helps them to locate the discussions they have taken part in more easily.

I always try to put three tags on every post I go, I guess it's because I'm already used by it!;)
I tag every discussion I post and every topic I've been through, to provide a better label on the topic. People should also do this, because tagging is very important for the post to be easily noticed by other members.

Good point, I was just concerned that by taking every available word I was depriving the people who came along next of a good word to tag with. Thank you for tagging and making my discussion more noticeable!

lol yes, maybe it is a spot the newbie thing, because I did more tagging at the start, then I thought it would be fairer to let others have a tag too.

When I create a discussion, I put in some Tags. If I can, I put 10. But I don't have a specific number. Anyway, there is always blank spaces, so other members can put their own tags on my discussions.
I only Tag my discussions, or discussions that have no Tags.

Ten! wow, I have never found ten to add to any of mine. Maybe I should add a few more in future then. i just wanted to leave the opportunity for others to have some words to use.

I think that the maximum are 10 Tags per discussion. You should leave some blank spaces, so other could also add as well.
However, in my discussions, I try to leave no spaces. Others may add Tags that have nothing to do with the Discussion.
