How does you pet dog behave when he is being fed ? Will it growl at you if you try to touch the food that is being offered to him/her ? As far as my beloved pomeranian pet dog SOOSIE , she would not make even a simple attempt of protest when it is feeding time .

One of my dogs dosnt like it when you go near his food, but thats ok he has been like that since a puppy, the other dog is quite happy for you to take her food, and she will sit and wait until you give it back.

Both our pet dogs will juyt eat quietly if no one goe s near them. They have to be fed seprately, othwise the big dog, a dalmation, will get aggessive & try to pinch the little dogs (mini fox terrier)food. It would not be a good idea for any human to approach a dog that is eating. Even though our dogs are very friendly, I think they would get quite nasty if they thought someone was interfering with their food. our Dalmation gets very excited if he is given a special treat such as a bone. He imediately runs to the back of the yard & hides it, so that no one will take it from him.

MY dog even allows the cat = who is several times smaller than him - to come to eat from his bowl and will actually move so the cat can eat LOL I can take his bowl, add or take anything from it, and even take something from his mouth without him complaining. He's a sweetheart :):):)

My dog Miko is so excited when he gets fed. I have to keep him on a feeding schedule because I have to give him medication. So when it is feeding time he is trying to leap and hop around me to get to his dish. I have to put a slice of sandwich meat in with his food so he will eat it. He is so burned out on his soft food. But it is prescription food and he has to eat it. But he does not growl and is very gentle and kind no matter what.

Petie, his ears blowing in the wind - Petie my papillion he is only 6lbs. He has a barking problem
Petie, my papillion will let you take the food away from him if he is eating. He gets mad at the cats if they go near his food when he is eating. We free feed Petie so his food is out all the time, the cats sometimes share his food. He does not mind unless his head is in the dish at the time. LOL

I have 4 dogs. None of them growl but I have one that is part pomeranian and part cocker spaniel (we think) that always tries to take the food away from the others even though 2 of them are a lot bigger than him.

My yellow lab/pit bull Buddy is wonderful when it comes to feeding time. He gets excited and jumps around until his bowl is put down, but he doesn't growl or mind if I pet him or even pick up his bowl while he's eating. My shar pei/shepard mix Snuggles is just the opposite. Once her bowl is put down in front of her, anyone that tries to touch it will get bitten. I can pet her back while she is eating but if I go any closer to her head I get the warning growl. She's doing better than when I got her a few years ago. Then, no one could even go outside for at least 30 minutes after her bowl was put down because she would try to attack.

Dear Sukumar, I am rearing/nursing 4 local dogs. They start shouting at he begining in happiness when I start feeding them. The good quality of each one is that they will wait till their turn come for food. They will not fight each other when I give food to one dog. All 4 will stand together looking at me when I start feeding them. I will call one by one and start giving them food. I did not give any name. By gesture I call any one of them. That particular dog will come forward to take his/her meal. Others will maintain silence till their turn. It was wonderful to feed them.
