I am a word, I have a meaning, but turn me upside down, I become an abbreviation of my opposite. If you look carefully, I've given myself away. Which word am I?

The only word in your post that can be inverted is 'down' but what the initials 'umop' mean I don't know all the best urban

I used the word in the post, but I didn't say it stood alone. It could be a combination of words or half a word. :)

Alright yall it's been three weeks.... the word is "up." It's found in "up-side" and inverted is "dn", the abbreviation for it's opposite.
