what time do you need to be quiet and turn down loud music or quiet dows parties in your neighbourhood. here in my town it used to be 10 pm but it's changed to anytime of day or night. if you want to complain you can. my issue is my neighbours. i live in a house that has an apartment upstairs. these young people just moved in less than 2 months ago. i hear their loud music, partying and smell their drugs every day. i have a 4 year old who goes to bed at 8. i've been up there a lot to tell them to turn it down. but every day it's still super loud. i'm at a point where i'm completely frustrated, i wake up with migranes from not sleeping due to their constant all night partying. but i don't want to wait til late at night to make a complaint but i feel stupid calling the cops at 8 for a noise complaint but i'd like my daughter to be able to sleep. not sure what to do.

Like maddysmommy has said in the post above, they clearly have no respect for anyone in the apartment whatsoever! I think one approach you can do is every time you hear super loud music, you go up there and tell them to turn it down, and keep repeating the process until they get annoyed and finally do listen to you. However, i think that this approach will be very unlikely to work on these people.
Another thing you can do is record how loud it is, and call the cops at different times when they are playing the music loud, you can organize some testers to find out the dB at which the noise level is at and they can get prosecuted for continuation of ignoring the law.
In my neighbourhood, our limit is all day round, but they are allowed up to a certain level of dB until they can be complained about =.=
I hope this helped you =D

It definitely shows they have no respect for anyone else but themselves. I would report it however way you are suppose to. If my son couldn't get to sleep because of a neighbor, I would of reported it already.
We live in an apartment block and we have a building manager so if problems like this arise, he is the one to talk to. Actually while i was away in Connecticut our neighbor across the hall had a friend staying at her place while she was away too. He blasted the music for two straight hours and complaints from all sides with through the manager and they put a stop to it right away. Even the police were called I heard.
So do what you gotta do if they are not listening - I would!

We have bylaws for things like that usually u have to be quiet at 11pm. We also have bylaws for music in cars at any given time u should not be able to hear it clearly in your home or yard at anytime. Now the bylaws being inforced is another story. Most people abide by it but there are a few ignorant people who really dont care and still do it.

We have one in our apartment building that is 10:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. I have had the same problem and the cops do work after calling them 3 or 4 times for the same reason. Have you told the landlord? I first call them and then start calling the cops and if there is a party with outsiders parking in the drive I have them towed away at the owners expense. This one teaches them all a leason and they start going elsewhere to party. I have even gone to the extreme of taking pots and pans in front of their doors when they are sleeping their hangovers off all day long and banging on them. This really gets their attention and when they open their door I tell them that it is pay back time. They move out real quickly after that. But yah first talk to them - then contact the owner or landlord - then the police - then the recker - then the pots and pans- by the end of the month they will be gone or very quite. hugs
