Series of help. (please do read) :)

July 3, 2007 7:08pm CST
I've been thinking lately of ways of giving help not just to those who want to earn more, or know how to do things such as make the most of time here on mylot. Suddenly I had a thought of blogging about a series of "How to do's" which would span from creating "basic" to "more colourful" profiles and ways of sprucing it up. (this is just one of those ideas) Would you see this as helpful or something you'd want to know? The how to do's will break things down, such as what colours do what to which section. I know this might not be a popular thing but I do think some here would find this useful and if even one found it helpful I would feel very happy. Please consider giving your opinion on this idea, as it's likely to push me to doing it. (knowing that it won't be a waste of time) :) Thanks for reading.. all responses will be given + with a responses to theirs. ~Joey

I like the idea of writing a what to do guide. i just have a bit of problem seeing it as a series of posts here in mylot. Maybe it is just my personal problem and other people would think differently, but i really get a bit bored and skip the whole series of posts when all the posts have the same idea, and start with the same opening heading. i know that things similiar have been tried here, and i did not really connect with that. Now this is only my personal opinion, i am sure other people would have a different opinion then mine.

Oh I'm posting them within the blog section newbiegen.com :) Not here, although I do agree with you and you said nothing wrong btw. I strongly value opinions and I thank you for sharing it with me :) ~Joey

You know Joey, what you're suggesting is nice. You might like to try to make each profile at newbiegen more personalize like the one here at mylot. Truth to tell, I've been trying for ages to change the background of my profile here. For some reason, the html won't work. But the idea of having my own personalized profile at newbiegen excite me. Way to go, Joey. Thanks for giving my bunny avatar a place in newbiegen, LOL!

Thanks charms :) Now there's a suggestion! I believe there maybe an option out there to allow different skins to be shown within the profiles. (I'll search it up and happily add it) down site, I don't think there will be an option like mylots aroud :( I sent someone the code to that yesterday, I'm not sure if it's worked but if it has I'll send it you. :) Your welcome charms.. ~Joey

I think it is a helpful aid, especially for "How-To"s. Talking about color combination and its effect is a good idea as it is always the visual that attracts. Besides, if you never try, you would never know the results. Many business become successful all because of one idea. I would suggest go ahead and try it. At least you know you can make it!

Thanks whyaskq, I started a rough draft earlier, I'm thinking about showing to examples one "darker styles" and one "lighter toned" and just explain the process. You're right about trying though, I'd like the site to be successful and to help so I know it would be idea for both. Thanks again buddy!

Hi, joey_matthews, It is a good idea. Go ahead. Like me, many mylot members do not know how to upload photo graph and other activities that can be done in various ways in internet. I shall be thankful if you kindly give writings through discussion on various activities that can be carried out through internet will help us. To earn more, I wish you should give information and your idea as to which site pay so that mylot members can avail of your advise to earn more. This is my only suggestion. Thanks. Have a nice day.

Hey navtech; I am searching for expending help beyond mylot, although I'm yet to find someone who's a member who's willing to share these details on other sites. However, You may want to check newbiegen.com (I'm not sure if mentioned this to before) I post there with some friends, as we started a way of sharing tips and advice it's just about to launch :) (working on content) Thanks for the suggestion! ~Joey P.s Have a nice day too!

Joey- I would love it- as my profile page is boring and the way that mylot set it up- I don't have the time to try to figure it out- and if you did posts that told us how- I'd be forever in your debt! So I say go for it- I'm sure there are alot of newbies (ok I'm not one) that would value this information. So post on!!

Ah heck.. I'd be happy to do it with having someone in debt, I like helping and supporting people because it's rewarding in it's own way. :) Please keep an eye out on this section and the blog area of the site. (they'll be posted here) although I am being careful because recently I've started getting paranoid about getting banned and would cry my eyes out for sure if that happened lol.. Thank you! ~Joey P.s Yesterday I felt like diving straight in but slightly felt discouraged to do so but now I'm going to start! (right now)

That is a good idea. But, I would suggest to provide info more about objective issues like, how to post properly, and the normal points to follow, etc. The subjective issues like colors to choose, etc. may be avoided, since it varies from person to person. But, if you meant about the content in the profiles and not the color of the text in them, then it will be helpful to the newbies:)

Hey Dragontester; Those are good suggestions. I haven't thought about touching on how we post but that's a good idea and would help. (noted) Well the guide would expend and refer visitors to a site with a colour chart so the issues of picking colours wouldn't be to hard as long as they kept things nutual and those colours work together ;) So it would focus on both the style and objects we place inside it. (images, background, additional things etc) Thanks for your responses! ~Joey

Good morning I would appreciate any help with working on my computer as I am very new at this and what I would call computer ignorant. I have no idea on how to do a lot of the stuff you are suggesting and if you do do this will you make it so simple that even some one like me has an opportunity to try out the lesson. this will require a much more difficult approach on your part as you would have to include what you believe is standard or everyone should know thinking. Because unless the lessons are explicit and simple I just do not get it as some one thinks she should know that. Well the sad fact is I don't.and if a point is missed all I do is get frustrated. I think you get my drift. I really would appreciate what you are doing , but use the KISS method OK.It is why recipe books fail because some step is not included and when the item fails the author will say but every one knows you need eggs for that cake. so trust me I do not know. Robin

Heya Robin :) I normally post basic or expend a simple way of doing it, such as the profile customization I would be adding pictures and keeping understandable. (which is hard) I'm not the best person to follow! lol But I'm giving it a go. (I hate posting links although the area this is under is that site) there's also a banner inside my profile if your interested. (newbie gen) Yeah sure, I'm following and I understand that. I used to learn to code using online examples and they wasn't "easy to follow" more advanced but I got there with most. (gave up with certain things) which I've recently took up with a good book :) Thank you very much for you suggestion + pointing this out. I'll keep this in mind :) (would benefit from it) ~Joey
