What do you know about permanent makeup?

My friend at work has tatooed eyeliner and it looks good. Has anyone ever had it done? Are you happy with it? Did it hurt as much as you thought it would? Can they do a lighter color than on the picture shown here? I found some information at this site: http://www.infoplasticsurgery.com/facial/permmakeup.html I had responded to another discussion about this topic, but it wasn't in beauty and it was 5 months ago with only 2 responses. I need answers before I decide to have this done or not. http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/850010.aspx

they had a thing about this on the health section of our news. first ,it basically said the person should think long and hard .that area does have a tendency to get infected with permanent make up and plus if you decide you don't like the way it looks, you're stuck.just be careful

My daughter thought about having this done and talked to a plastic surgeon about it. The dr had many pictures of the proceedure she had done on others. In the end, my daughter decided NOT to go with it. While investigating it, we've seen many pictures of folks who had it that were older (having had it done years before.) We both were of the opinion that as they aged it did not look natural, nor good, as the aging process of the skin went on during their lifetime. We have seen some women that come into this one restaurant that have had it done. They were older too, and it just did not look natural. I don't know, it might be great and look good after it's done, and for many years after, but who knows what it would look like when you get older and skin starts to wrinkle around the eyes? Good luck with whatever decision you make! Oh, and the surgeon she checked with was willing to do lighter colors than the jet black, so I'm sure there are probably many lighter colors to go with that would probably look more natural.

I was thinking that since I have bright blue eyes, a smokier bluish gray would be my best choice. Jet black would look ridiculous on me.

I never have though about getting it before at all. I am so afraid of anything like that. So, I don't think that I will be going there anytime soon, but I wish you a good luck if you decide to go with it.
