This really made me grumpy!

Okay. I thought for a long time on whether or not to post this, because I get mad every time I remember the incident. Wednesday night last week I didn't get to sleep before 2 am because I had a rush search for leased premises for a client from out of the country. Anyway, you know how you are so tired your brain is mush but still it refuses to stop? Well, I had no sooner dropped off (or so I thought) when the roofers replacing my neighbour's roof started banging away without let up on his roof! I sat up with a jolt thinking "Shoot! I overslept! I'm supposed to call the client at 9 am!" When I squinted at the clock radio I couldn't believe my eyes--it was 6:30 AM! My head was pounding and my brain was swimming. The roofers were on the roof right outside my bedroom window, which wall was where my head was, then groggy, now very irate and grumpy. I kicked hubby--who usually needs a cannon to wake him up--who just turned over and mumbled that they probably wanted to get the job done before it got really hot. I debated whether to get myself really awake by ranting and raving, and calculating that I had three more hours of sleep by biting my tongue. So I took my pillow and plopped to sleep in the guest room, way over on the other side of the house. I stewed for a while and got a headache, and I could still hear the hammering, but luckily, I fell asleep. I was SOOO mad, though, and considered calling the police to complain, but hubby---always a peace-loving person (as long as HE gets to sleep through it) said it was not worth the aggravation. I was still extremely annoyed, but deferred to his judgment. I still get very upset thinking about it, though, and one of these days when I chance to meet my neighbour I will let him have it! No, I won't, but I will probably tell him he and his roofers were this close to spending their morning at the police station, with a hefty fine for disturbing the peace. What about you, my fellow myLotters, am I justified in feeling this way? Have you ever had a similar experience? What did you end up doing? Thamks for letting me vent. Share, please....:-[

This has been happening to us for the past 2 year. The house next to the thehouse we rent our apartment in is like maybe, MAYBE, a meter away and they have been working on it for that last 2 Springs. No one has any consideration for anyone. I opened the window and yelled and cursed at them but I don't think it helped much, it did make me feel a little bit better though. Then I went out and bought ear plugs.

Ear plugs! What a great idea! I'll go to Canadian Tire tomorrow and get some. Or maybe Shoppers might have some I recall seeing some in packets when I picked up some prescriptions like week. I agree with you that yelling would have helped a lot, but I didn't want to wake me up completely. Isn't it a shame that consideration is going out of fashion!? Have a wonderful week! How did you spend Canada Day over there? Hope you had a good one!:-}
