They fired her!

one of the girls at my work has had a horrible month, First her son was arrested and put into juvenile centre, even though they knew he has very bad social issues. He got so upset he banged his head hard enough on the cement wall, to cause a brain bleed. Because they assumed he was faking, they didn't take him to the hospital right away, Sadly he died from his injury. She just got back on her feet from that blow, when she had a small stroke, probably caused by too much stress. She was in the hospital for a week, unable to speak, so she could not call in and tell the manager she was unavailable. She came back to work today, against her doctor's advice, and they actually said a stroke was no excuse and fired her. I tell you, the world is getting more and more money hungry all the time.

Dirty dogs. But she must remember that everytime a door closes another one opens. She should look into seeing what she can do about them firing her without just cause.....she might have a pretty good case.

No, she hasn't been there for 3 months yet, and you can be fired forno reason up until 3 months time. After 3 months, benefits kick in, so it costs the company if she gets sick again.

This is awful! how come a stroke is not a reason to call that she can't go to work? Did they even know what she has been through? Oh my, if I were her I would do something about it. She should report this to appropriate Ministry department and send them proofs of her hospital bill or statement from the hospital that she's been there due to stroke. She should also mention about what happened to her son, because he wouldn't die if he was treated right away. You're right, money hungry the way I see it.
