hi, guys!!! I'm a beginner in developing software and I am currently in PHP and MySQL. I've been asked to develop a program and fortunately, I am now in the stage of making finishing touches. However, while testing the program, I realized that I could not open the webpage (index) from a remote computer. But if i run php services in the remote computer, then that's the only time i could open the page. I am wondering what should be done so that i could open the page from a remote computer without running PHP services in that computer. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!

Hi Michecu You cannot run your PHP scripts without running a program like apache web server. There is another way to run PHP scripts without running a webserver but i dont know what it is. please visit http://sourceforge.net/projects/netserver/ and donwload the program called net server. This is a pack of servers for windows NT/2000/2003/XP, controlled and configured by an easy to use interface designed for the project which will run in the systray. This includes Apache+PHP , MySql, Filezilla FTP server, Hmail Server and PHP Srcipts. Hope this will help you.

Thanks for enlightening me... but i have a question, why is it that people using the internet can access pages with PHP scripts even if they do not have any web server (like apache) running in their computer? Is there a way to manage the default webservers in Windows98/XP so it could also run PHP scripts and i don't have to install apache in all of our PCs which will access the program I am trying to develop? Or do I have to change apache configuration in my server so it will allow remote computers who are accessing it to run PHP scripts?
