I know that each of us has a unique way of gathering ourself up when we are down. it is the human survival instincts that looks for a way to feel better when we are down, tired, sad and so on. I know that every time that happens to me i just go out from my house and take a 30 minutes walk and them meditate, and things do go back to the right perspective. What is your way to cheer up when you're down?

hi liran, i donot have a proper way that would get me out of my sadness and blues. as you know, recently, i am into something irreversible and i get into depressive bouts often. its terrible! i can't find ways to get out. i work, work and work more, till late hours, i go out freaking, i try to spend time in recluse, may be, i would read a funny book or watch cartoons. these are but temporary elevators. eventually, i do get over. i guess TIME is the best healer. with its passage things ease out a bit but the ache stays. smiles.... PS: nice to hear from you after a while...have been missing you.

Thank you mimpi, i spend most of my days now in studying and working so i really do not spend much time here. And if i am here i usually just read the posts and responses. Yes, there is not an easy way to solve our sadness, it is more complicated. But the doctors say that there are small things that can make us feel better, usually physical activities.

Great topic! My solution all depends on what is bothering me to begin with. I may go to sleep (dreaming always is a great spirit lifter for me), go for a walk, do some cross stitch, have a good cry, get lost in a good book or movie ... or indulge in some good chocolate ice cream! *wink*

What I do is that I think of the powerful facts that amaze me. Another is I take a pen and draw on it using 3d. I think of something funny.

When I am down or blued, usually I will stay with my friends. And chat with them or hang out with them. I like to sing songs with them. At last, i will cheer up. When i tired, then go home and sleep. After waking up, I start my new day again. Yesterday was passed, and the down, the blue were gone. I cheer up for new day.

When I am feeling down, I like to go to the park and go for a walk as that helps me to relax and take my mind off of things. Keeping myself busy is very helpful to me and being outdoors is even better. Staying indoors just makes things worse for me. Hanging out with friends or family usually helps as well since you have someone to talk to or do things with to keep you occupied.

well i think the best way is to go out have a ncie place to sit adn then relax and enjoy the nature. i knwo for some people it may seem strange but let me tell you we hardly get tiem to think about ourself in this busy life. so whe we sit alone, we think of ourself and that s very motivating. we tend to drift sometimes. but these kind of things bring to you back on track and i think that is why people say that you should think what you are doing.

Actually, when I am down, I will play avoidance of whatever it is and try to get my head thinking on something else. Caffeine is a good thing too. Because then my mind is racing in so many directions, I will not think about what is upsetting. And then there is my sister. Some how...no matter how dreadful the situation will be, we will end up laughing on the phone anyways. So, that is a good thing too. :) So, my ways to cheer up? Coffee and my sister. ha ha

im really weird when comes to cheering myself up, lol, if i clean the house up with music going and sing a long to it, i tend to forget about any problems. or i go outside and sit with my dogs or even my horse and talk about what is going on and i find that they seem to understand or they might be just looking at me thinking, what are you on about lol.

I listen to soft music when I am down.It really calms my soul.I get some energy and confidence. This helps me in being fresh all day long even if I am down for sometime. If this doesn't work then I sleep for hours and hours continuously.

I usually go watch tv or listen to some music when I feel so down. Sometimes it helps to take a warm bath to relax when I am down and feel better afterwards.

I will read jokes, watch television or even sleep. I have a joke book which I do not mind reading every time I am bored. Watching television relaxes my mind and so does sleep. It relaxes the whole body! If my friend is available, I will go to the seaside and let the breeze blow about my boredom.

when i down first i go out for a drive...little twisting roads and just drive...or i go for a run...just running to get my mind off of it and then talk to someone...i prefer to push my body to where i am emotionally and then work on building myself up from talking to friends and being with them

For me is to talk long walk with my dogs or stay on the beach for one hour. If weather is not good, than watching comedy is my ultimate solution....

Sadly, I am one person who is a sentimental fool. I yearn more for the heartache I have just recently been to, always trying to look for answers.. My form of meditation is being alone, just not so into mingling with people, I guess. But I can say that I recover from doing it so, I just need some privacy to let things sink-in. After that, everything will be okay for me!;)

I just count my blessings. I remember positive happenings with me. I try to recall sweet memories of my past. I just try to divert my attention from the sad happening or thing...and try to think something positive, something cheering. Walking is another option, which I also follow to charge me up, when I am down and out.
