Are you close with your parents? Do you always say " I love you" to them? Personally, I am not a showy type of person when it comes to my family. I don't say "i love you" to them. I don't greet them "happy birthday", "happy mother or father's day", or even a simple "take care" or "thank you" or " sorry". I'm just shy and I'm not used to it. Even my brothers and sisters. Although im not showy to them with regards to my feelings, I know I love them so much. And I want to take care of them when they grow old.

I cant imagine not saying I love you to my children daily. My mother passed away in december and I told her everytime we talked or I saw her that I loved her. I cant imagine my loved ones leaving the house nad me not saying be carefull and I love you. Please remember they are gone in the blink of an eye and you may regret it the rest of your life.

Yes, I very much agree with you. It seems that my day is not complete without my husband & child saying I love you to me. As a parent, I always make it a point that the word love is always mentioned at home, on the phone before saying goodbye or leaving a small note because i believe that when you are loved it is also easy to give love.

No I can't, I just can't, it's just not in my nature, and I guess there's nothing bad about it. People have different kinds of relationships with their parents and are brought up in different houses, with different atmospheres and nature, so not all of them are used to saying "I love you". It feels odd, but it doesn't really make a difference if you can't, because you could love your parents equally even then, and often, it's your actions and attitude rather than these three words that proves your feelings for them.

Yes i do usually tell them a i love you as frequent as i can cause i love them a lot and find just no harm.cause they have just done so many things for me that i can never pay them back.A simple I love you at times when they do something good is very nice.

I do say "I love you" to my parents occationally. It may not be the exact words, but surely the meaning. i do love my parents very much and i am appreciative of what they do for me! I think it is important for them to hear it, even thought they may already know it at heart, it is still very important to say it to them, it feels great to hear those words =D Maybe you should try it, i am sure they will be happy to hear it!

Well, im not that close to my parents coz i grew up without my mom beside me She worked abroad to earn money. So, we are not taught to be more expressive with our feelings.. I never said i love you to my parents, But i guess they just feel it how much i really care about them.

Oh my God!What a coincidence they are the carbon copies of my thoughts.Even I think the same way.I am a very shy kind of person, who always cares but shows as though I don't give it damn. But I guess we are very very less valued by others(excluding parents).I believe we are more caring than anyone else in this world. What do you think?

I tell my parents I love them all the time. Especially before I go to bed or they go to bed, whichever comes first. It is important to let people you love know that you love them all the time, because unfortunately you never know when they could be taken away from you.

I often say "I love you " to my mom and I used to say it to my dad as well. But I'm not always saying it, they know I do, I don't need to say it. I do show them I love them in many different ways. MY family is really good at showing affection and I grew up like that as well. Some people are like you and have a bit of a problem expressing emotions but those emotions are there anyways and I"m sure your parents know that:)

There is really no substitute to saying to your loved ones that you love them no matter what. This is not being showy. It is being thankful.

Hi maybel13, I do not use to tell my family members, such as father, mother, sisters and brothers that I love them. Everybody knows we love each other. We show our love by doing things good to them which make them happy. Everybody in our family do good to others so that each other knows that we love each other.

I think that this has a lot to do with the way you were brought up. I am like you. I don't say "I Love You" to my mother or hug her ect, because I was not brought up that way. I really don't like that we don't do this, so when I had children, I changed this way with my kids. I always hug my children and tell them I Love You. They in return are very comfortable saying it back to me. I do tell my mother happy birthday, happy mothers day, and say thank you and sorry.

I seldom say that but I think my parents known that I love them. In their birthday, father's day and mother's day I would say thank you and wish they have the good health.

I believe that saying I love you to your loved ones especially your parents is very important. Our parents know that we love them but they need to hear it from us. I myself feels so cherished when my husband and child says I love you, Mama. It makes me feel so loved.
