What's your view on Protest against Salman Rushdie being conferred Knighthood !!

All muslim countries are against Salman Rushdie being conferred Knighthood by the British Government. They have issued a Fatwa too for his head. Can we expect such acts from any civilised people?

i have no idea why the british government give the knighthood to salman rushdie i meant come on man there are bunch of good writers out there who deserve that title ;)
