Creating discussions

When it comes to creating discussions, do you create a discussion of whatever you are thinking of at the moment, or do you think over and decide carefully whether or not to create a discussion? Do you search discussions to check if the topic has already been turned into a discussion (I did this and didn't find any results for "creating discussions" and similar) or do you go straight on and just create the discussion? Are your discussions mainly about current events, family, asking questions, finding opinions or something else? How often do you create discussions? I've been on myLot for around 3 months, and including this I would have made 3 discussions, averaging a speedy 1 discussion a month...

I make note of points in my diary of every important thoughts and at night I sit and prepare the discussion topics which should be thoughtprovoking to any reader.

Some of the topics which were imaginatively coined has brought close to 1000 responses here in mylot. IT is really nice to post a good discussion topic which receives appreciation by all the mylotians.

It varies. Sometimes its things I want to talk about. Other times its things on my mind. There are also playful and fun threads I just have to do too just for the sake of it. I do wonder whether to post a discussion or not but really this thought comes up more for responding to discussions instead of posting them. For the discussion side, I do wonder if it will be "boring" or if something else happens and it gets ignored. I've been around the site for 5 months and I believe I average in at 4 to 6 discussions a month... this can vary.

So approximately 1-2 new discussions every week, that's quite active I think :). I tend to do what you do also with responding to an existing discussion rather than creating a new one, thanks for the response :)

hi cellophane! ^__^ i create discussions whenever i want to share something just about anything, from family matters to anything under the sun like everyday habits and stuffs. but i don't always create a discussion. i don't create discussions everyday. i only create discussions which i think would interest a lot of people. i also create discussions about my certain interests but only when there's something new about them. i think i create 2-3 discussions per week. i don't really count them. ^__^ i usually create a discussion right away. i seldom search first before i create a discussion. ^__^;; i know its careless but at least i didn't copy my discussions from other discussions. i don't do that. ^__^

Hi SBear :) Thanks for your response, it's good you don't copy, and your discussions are good, you don't even need to check :P

when something strikes my mind i keep a note of it in my memory and compose it in my notepad and check it carefully before posting it in mylot.I never have searched to find out that any similar discussion which i intend to post exist in mylot..i just post my ideas..thats it.. Most of my discussions are based on day to day issues, life and relationships..i post new discussions atleast 2 -3 days once.

Looking at your discussions they are quite original so I guess you don't really need to check if they have been asked already. A discussion every 2-3 days, that's quite active, thanks for your response.

Hi Cellophane, I know this is a little old, but I thought I would put in my two cents! hehe Sometimes Im quick to start a thread and then other times I really take my time and think it over before posting. I mostly respond to disucssions really. I think its much easier to respond that it is to create! lol Bay Lay Gray xx

Thanks for your response Bay :). I agree it is easier to respond to than create discussions.

I make a discussion out of anything and everything. I think its fun. I have only looked to see if a discussion had already been done once. I like to see if people are thinking the same thing as me.

Hehe I can see... you have a crazy amount of discussions for someone who's been on this site less than a week! (I mean this in a good way :))

I am not more into posting my own discussions here, maybe 3 times a week would be by maximum average. It really depends on the ideas I have on my mind, because most of the times I make sure that my post is somewhat original and well-put. I love looking and responding to other people's posts, as I can also learn new things by doing it so..

3 times a week is still quite good I think (...compared to me it's great!). Looking at other people's discussions certainly can be very fun and educational... I've learnt some interesting things here on mylot.

I try to create a meaningful and useful discussion, which could not only help me but others who go through it. I do give a sincere thought, before starting a discussion...I just do not start any discussion randomly...or just for the sake of starting a discussion.
