I am having one of the worst sore throat ever. I don't have any fever or anything but I am having a bit of cold and a terrible cough. Anyone have any home remedy for me to try?? My voice is now to a mere whisper... help..

Hhhmm, thank Allah is better now. Perhaps you can try eating kiwi fruit. The vitamin contains in kiwi fruit help to soothe your itchy throat. If you take honey and lime, then take them warm. Avoid scooping honey with metal spoon as this can cause chemical reaction to the honey which contain natural antibodies. If everything else out of reach, go to pharmacy and buy that "Robitussin" cough drop sweet and suck them. IT work wonders for me. Take care.

Yes, Alhamdullilah :)..my voice has returned to normal and I am able to hear me talk again Yes, I am aware of avoiding taking honey with metal spoon and thanks for the reminder. I actually took another cough syrup that my FIL gave me, cant remember the name though but it only made the cough worse coz it became "dry" cough and hurts my chest sooo much.. next time will try the brand you suggested. Thanks mate :)

I find honey really good, just let it sit in your throat for a minute, like you are gargling it and it will coat your throat which will make it stop tickling for a little while, also drink lots of water as this will keep your throat nice and wet so it doesnt get dry and tickly and it also helps to cleanse out your system. Hot water with lemon and honey is also a really good drink to have when you have a cold! Hope you get rid of it soon

For sore throats I use a glass of warm water and salt and gargle it. I also drink a cup of tea with honey and that does the trick too. Hope that you feel better.

Make gargles with baking soda and water, but don't swallow it. Hope you feel better with that!

Sucking on hard candy always helps me. Horehound candy is the best for that if you can get it. If not butterscotch and peppermint work well too.
