I presently own my mobile home and have lived in it for 8 years,I do not find it any cheaper,as the cost of utilities is high because of the lighter insulation, and my pad rent is way out of site. And I am one of the lucky ones,if you have to morgage the trailer, you better be making plenty of money.
Just my opinion.
thanks for the rant.

I lived in a fifth wheel for a year. However, I didn't save money on cooling or heating. And when it all came down to it, I preferred living someone else. But that is only my experience. I know wonderful people who love their mobile homes. Only thing is, even my fifth wheel was frequently somewhat damaged when the winds kicked up. I live in Tornado Alley and mobile homes are hazards.

We looked into it and it doesn't actually save much money if any at all unless maybe if you own your own land and you are choosing to buy a mini home rather than build a whole house. To live in a mini home parl here you have to pay a lot fee of $170 on top of any rent or mortage paments that you are making on the trailer. I worked it out and when you add it all up you can have an $80 000 home for the same monthly cost as buying a trialer and paying a lot fee.
