Starting new discussions won't affect our earnings, right?

Last time, I didn't response any discussions from myLot's members. But I did start two new discussions. I saw my earnings in the next day and I didn't get earnings at all. My conclusion is... starting new discussions won't affect our earnings. Do you agree with this argument? If not, can you let me know why?

Well it can affect it positively, it's just that you need to get responses to those discussions...it sucks when nobody responds

Well, I didn't response any discussion but I did post one discussion. It had a few response. I still didn't get an earning. Thus, posting questions won't affect our earnings.

I have thought about this too. I have noticed that nothings changed on my earnings whenever I start a new discussions. Hey, 2 discussions is equal to 1 post, am I right? I'm not sure but I have noticed it. ~mar

jalbeos seems to be right. It's the post that gets the most earnings. A friend of mine got into the 500 posts quota and earned 30$.

Do you think we have to have a certain quota in order to get earnings because of our postings? If yes, I don't know about it. Did myLot ever say about a certain quota?

Yes, if no one make discussions, all of us will never get earnings. Good point.

maybe your discussions got no responses from your readers, i think it can affect your earnings very positively, i started new responses and my earning started to grow whenever there are som responses.

I agree with you. It appears you don't get any credit for starting a new discussion until someone actually responds to it. For that reason, it is good to figure out what people might really want to discuss. Some of the discussions that others start that I don't think will get much response get a lot of responses, so I guess I haven't figured that part out yet.

Hi DanaMark, I did get a few responses but I didn't get earnings for that. That's why I concluded about it.

You would think that starting your own discussions would carry a bit more weight than just posting to other folk's discussions. However, this is only my fourth day at mylot.com, so I am not entirely certain how it all works.

Yeah I've noticed that. You'd think it'd be the other way around hey? Like it takes effort and initiative to start your own post. And it also is a lot of effort searching for an appropriate photo for your discussion, saving it then posting it. Then deleting it again cos you don't want your computer full of useless photos.. yeah i think it's stupid. But i'm not complainingit's easier just to hit 'respond' and type stuff and we get paid more!

Everything affects our earnings, the length of our responses, how much we respond...in relation to making discussions, the amount of replies you get and how long (descriptive) they are will make all the difference. It's really why I don't make many discussions, I don't like relying on others to make my earnings. I find it much easier and much better to reply to other's discussions and make my myLot money that way. I like being able to take things into my own hands and if I want to make more I just reply to more discussions. It's a lot harder to get people to get a lot of quality responses than to give them yourself, I find! Good luck! :)

Yes, I responded discussions more than posted my questions.

I think it does. I'm not really sure though. I think you have to get people to respond to your discussion, that's when you earn money. It's really worth a try. Maybe you should make more discussions, see where it gets you. I started about 5 discussions last night, I tried to make them really interesting and fun, and I got about 30 cents. Well, I also posted a lot too. I think if you start a discussion, then people respond, you should comment on their response too, just to keep the whole discussion going. I read a topic here somewhere that if you do that, you earn more. It's worth a try. :)

They dont't seem to unless they are really long or until you get some responses. As far as I can tell being nice and interested in what people respond with to your post by answering them doesn't earn anything either.

Mylot's earning algorithm is real mystery. I got 6 cent without posting any discussion or response. That's great. I think posting discussion can only pay you if you discussion is getting few responses. If your discussion is with no responses, they will not pay for it.
