I usually have a stress ball in the office and I use it when I feel stress at work. It makes me feel relax. How about you, How do you handle stress wether at home or at work?

I don't have a stress ball at work, thankfully it's usually not too stressing. What I will usually do is just stand outside, take a deep breath, and try to relax a little bit before going back to work. Maybe I'll try to expel a little bit of it, and save the rest. After work, I work out either at the gym or at home. If I head over to the gym, I'll go and hit the punching bag for a few minutes; that really gets my blood pumping and relieves a lot of stress. When I am at home, I will usually go for a walk or try to exert it physically in a run or something. It's the best way for me to expel any stress from my body. Physical activity always does it for me.

Whenever I'm under a lot of stress, I will simply grab all my household cleaning stuff and begin cleaning my house from top to bottom. I discovered years ago that I needed to sweat out my stress and it has somehow been my therapy. There's the added bonus of seeing my house all clean and polished up. :)

I used to exercise - run or cycle when I was stressed but due to my back problems and recent surgery I am unable to do that! I now wait till I am in the house alone and scream and shout into a pillow! lol It sounds silly but does help a bit! xxx

I guess I need one of those balls. I try to just take it really easy when I get stressed out and not let it get to me somehow.

I meditate every morning for about 45 minutes to an hour. And sometimes I take 5 minutes just to sit straight close my eyes and focus on my breaths as they enter and leave my body - this has a centering effect but needs to be practiced regularly. Stress is a fact of life and (positive) stress is to be expected. Stress like anxiety is negative stress and needs to be addressed. Your stress balls are good for handling it, and if you can add mental focus to your breathing, it will work even better. I am a therapist and if anyone is interested, I have meditation articles on meditation on my website http://ayrehypnotherapy.com/whymeditate

I do have a stress ball too. I always keep it near me when I am at work. It is my way to de-stress and poor ball, it has been squeezed to the max!LOL! In my line of work, it is a no-no to get angry at clients who are taking a slow time in processing payments. So every time I call them, I would always have my stress ball in hand so that my anger could be directed at it and not at the person on the other line.

For me to battle stress I would lie back while listening to soft and mellow music and close my eyes. I relax my mind by not worrying on anything for a few moments.

well it's better to have a stress ball when you're the impatient type. if you don't have anything to do, just having a stress ball will make you feel better. some people don't get how it can release tension but some people don't have the same temperament as you and don't know how it is to be in your situation. If you are a highly stressable person having this stress ball is actually better than simple breathing in and out. however the problem is what if you don't have your stress ball? what if everyone else borrows your stress ball and it stresses you out? hahaha... anyway just do the deep breathing method to release stress but if that really doesn't work then you have to learn some more methods on relieving stress.

When I am feeling stressed I try to escape. There are those times when I am stuck somewhere; in a car, in a room with people, out in pulic, and really can't go anywhere. It is for those times that I carry a small CD player and a pair of headphones. If I can't physically escape, I try to do so mentally. When I have the opportunity to go home during a stressful time, I unqind by sitting infront of my computer and writing.
