Do you still have new clothes that you haven't wore yet?

I was just rearranging my closet these past few days.. trying to spring clean my room (hence my absence from MyLot).. and I came upon a few clothes that I haven't wore since I bought it.. With the price tags still hanging.. And now, i can't wear it because of my pregnancy and by the time i can fit into them.. the fashion would be slightly.. passe!! Some of these clothes were given by my mother on one of her trips abroad.. but that was like ages ago. I can't believe i totally forgot about them. How about you? Do you have new clothes still hanging around your closet? Or are you the type that wears it straight away after buying them? Do share.. thanks!!

Hey there! Maybe you can use those clothes as your motivation to gain back that sexy body you used to have.. I think that's my biggest mistake when buying clothes.. I buy it just in case i lose weight.. like, yeah right!! hahaha.. that never happens! My sister calls it my "skinny clothes". For WHEN or IF i become skinny. So if i don't reach my ideal size, i just pass it on to my elder sister who's just tinier than me. :)

I definitely have some clothes that are not worn at all sitting in my wardrobe. Last time when I cleared my wardrobe out, I told myself I really didn't need any new clothes this season. But then you know what? I just bought some more clothes to add to the burden of my wardrobe *sighs*. Some of the clothes I forgot about them and some of them I don't have any idea how to match them, somehow, I believe that they would be sitting in my wardrobe for quite a while before I finally put them on (don't know when).

Haha! Same here.. I have to learn to buy clothes that I KNOW will match something that I own.. Because when i buy something that doesn't.. it takes me a while to buy something that actually matches it.. and by that time, I'm likely to forget about it.. For the clothes that I I bought but I know will never wear, I just give 'em to my sisters.. luckily I got two sisters who are usually happy to take my clothes. But then again, I end up complaining of having nothing to wear. *laughs*

Oh geez! You have two sisters to give to and I have no one to give to! Sometimes I feel it's such a waste when I look at the clothes. I usually end up donating to charity (makes me feel better). And yes, most of the time, I would stand in front of my wardrobe and whine about having nothing to wear. Oh and some of my clothes disappear mysteriously too! Like when I want to wear them, they are gone out of sight for some reason!

*laughs* why is it that we share the same misfortunes??? I get that alot too.. And the thing is, the clothes that mysteriously disappear are the ones that I really like! My mom says I don't keep my clothes properly.. and I'm like.. where else should I keep it besides the closet.. haha.. But most of my clothes disappeared when i went to college and there were lotsa guests who came to the house and stayed in my room for a while. So.... I don't know.. I don't wanna cast blames on people just randomly, you know.. Oh well.. just gotta make do with what i have right now.. :)

Wow!! I wear my clothes a soon after I get them so I definitely do not have any clothes with tags on them. I usually buy a clothing item and wear soon after I can see your dilemma and I guess it does not apply to me being a guy. I have lot's of opportunities to wear my clothes and I do not go through changes in my physique to cause me to have to put of wearing them. Also I think because I do not buy clothes often, I buy clothes when I need them so I wear them soon after

hey the illflexx.. Yeah.. it's so lucky to now have alot of changes in your physique. My brothers are like that too.. they buy clothes and would wear them the next chance they have. After all, it's not like you guys buy tuxedos, right? Also, guys don't have the agonizing pleasure of mixing and matching.. the other reason why most of my clothes are still "hanging around".. Thanks for sharing a guy's point of view! :)

I hate to admit this, but I have six perfectly brand new Diane Gilman silk outfits tucked away in my closet for safe keeping. I've never worn them! I don't even know if I could. I'm not going to try them on until I lose all my pregnancy weight. And, then I won't wear them until I find a very special occasion or go back to work. I purchased the items just before I got pregnant, and never had the chance to see how they would look on me. But, they are incredibly beautiful. I hope to have the chance to wear them some day. You're the first person that I've told about this! Best wishes for you and your baby. Be well, my friend. Drop by sometimes and we'll chat.

hey there hpete! You're right.. we malaysians tend to shop alot.. even when the need for clothes do not arise. The thing is, living in a multi-racial country, where there are Malays, Chinese, Indians and so forth, there are always celebrations to celebrate. And when there are celebrations, there are always SALES happening.. Guess one can't help seeing great steals and bargains. Even if they end up hanging in the closet for the rest of the year.. :) Thanks for responding!

You must have a lot of money... :) to have bought clothes and not wear them. I am on the contrary will buy and immediately wear them. I only buy when I really am interested to wear the clothes, and usually after bringing it home I would wear it immediately or the day after that. After a while I would get bored of it, then I'll look for another new one. Well, that's me. What to do?

Not alot of money.. just love scouting for bargain sales items! lol! I think that's my problem. I buy them because they're cheap and not really because I truly "FEEL" it. My older sister always tells me to only buy clothes that gives you that "FEEL"! haha.. My younger sis is alot like you.. whenever she gets new clothes, she will immediately wear them the next day. but really, that's really good of you.. at least you minimize on wastage. But then again, I've got 2 sister that I can just pass them to when I can't/dont want them. :) Thanks for responding!

Well, there is no dress of mine which is untouched. But there are many that get unfit to me which don't wore i.e. they get tight or gotten smaller. So I stopped wearing it. Wait a minute, there is one which I didn't wore yet but that was given to my cousin brother. Because he asked the shirt because he liked that and my mom gave him that shirt. So for this, she bought me a new Coat suite. Have a nice day. Bye

Hi there vijay.. That's good that you were able to give away a shirt and got a new replacement in turn. If only my mom would do that for every shirt that i gave away.. *laughs* Anyways, thanks for taking the time to respond.. you have a nice day too!

if the clothes are really expensive and good them i leave them for some special occasion ...... also depends upon the type of outfit ..party wear can only be used while u attend a party..as for now...i dont have any new clothes on my hanger...

yeah.. that's true.. If you happen to buy formal attire, then there's no way of being able to wear it immediately.. you still have to wait for the proper time to wear it. But personally, even clothes that are very casual, takes at least a few weeks before i wear them.. i guess it's a silly habit..

I usually wear the new clothes on the very next day, it was bought, and this was my practice until few years back.. But now, with no specfic reasons i lost charm in wearin the new ones immediately, and therefore one can find some new clothes patiently waiting for me to adore it..

i do. recently i found this clothes that i have not worn yet. they are not new actually. they are vintage clothes from a thrift shop. just the other day, i found the time to wash them. i do not want to wear second hand clothes without washing them first. you know what i mean hahaha. as for brand new clothes, sometimes i wear them right away without washing it. except underwears. :)

You're just like a friend of mine.. she washes every item of clothing before she wear them. i don't.. probably i should, huh? We don't really have thrift shops here so there's no need for washing them too. And as for underwear, i buy mine where the policy is no trying.. :) but maybe i still should.. who knows, right??

Hey there bowtieguy.. I think it takes me longer.. especially when there's nothing to match it with. I don't know why I buy clothes that don't match things that I already have.. maybe because I want to try something new.. but then again, for guys it's easier, i believe. Anyways, thanks for responding! :)

I have the same situation like you. Whenever I rearrange my closet and I always found some new clothes that I haven't worn yet. The reason may be the wrong weather, or I suddenly don't like it, it's hard to match my skirt or trousers... It's not good to buy something but not use them at all. I will try to avoid it. And meanwhile I have to remember those new clothes and try to wear it some time.

Hi youless. I agree with you.. and not just for the sake of agreeing. Next time, I'll try harder to resist buying new clothes if I am not totally into it. If I buy it, I have to make sure I use it straight away. And no more buying things that don't match anything I own at the moment. :) However, with all my old clothes, I can keep on wearing them over and over.. even the ones I owned when I was 11/12 years old.. Seriously, I still wear my childhood t-shirts.. haha..
