This is one of my biggest problems....I tried much but was not able to type by watching on the screen so I came back watching on keyboard and typing letters, also my speed of typing is soooo slow,I am very much depressed by this. This is one of the three things(i think)i can never do in my life.....other two are:- making round chapati and flying kite. I tried these much times and never succeeded.any tricks for these???

I think what you need is just more practice. With more practice, you will be able to type without looking at your keyboard or your fingers too. For me, I have been using the computer for many years so I can type easily without looking at either the keyboard or fingers. I normally just look at the screen while I am typing to make sure I am not making any mistakes. :P

I tried to learn how to type without looking at the keyboard so many times but I just can't do it. I had many softwares in the past that were supposed to help me but I get bored using them so I quit after a few lessons. Now I type looking at the keyboard but sometimes for a split second or so I take my eyes off the keyboard and type looking at the screen. But it is usually for a very short period of time as I mentioned.

Typing takes practice. You need to memorize the key board and practice looking at the screen and not the keyboard. I was tought how to type on a typerwriter without the letters writen on the keys so I had to memorize what the letters where. As you do this you will get better. So what if your typing is slow, I make a lot of mistakes and have to correct them. That slows me down. Now for flying a kite. It takes good wind and practice as to how much string to let out. LOL. I have not flowen to many kits but I have gotten them way up in the sky a few times.

if you want to learn to type then never look at the keyboard after you put your fingers on the home keys then just type.. you don't have to be 100% perfect you are on here for fun.. so when it is fun then you will become good just like any hoby or skill pratice makes near perfect...lol

lol im the same, i look at the keyboard instead of the screen and when im typing heaps of paragraphs i still makes heaps of mistakes as im not watching the screens so i miss fixing them up. well you will be proud lol i just wrote this looking at the screen not the keyboard lol and i had to fix that many mistakes up its not funny. i dont think anything wrong with looking at the keyboard, unless if your job is to type things up lol and your really slow etc

Priyanka, Pl. do not be disheartened or disappointed, if you are not able to type at the great speed. Many here type after seeing the key-board (using their one fingure only). If you are too keen to type at speed, I would suggest you to learn typing..and I think...it can be learnt on-line also (through net)...you will have to search & check the sites. I do not have the formula for making round capatis...(so cannot tell you) but does it really matter....whether the chapatis are round or nor?...if a chapati is not fully round..and you have made it sincerely and with your heart...it will have the same taste and flavour, as of a perfect round chapati. Is not it? YOu can also learn kite flying, it is not difficult to fly a kit...however, cannot describe you all the intricacies of kite flying here on mylot....you will require to learn it from somebody around you/your house...who knows how to fly the kite (I mean it needs practical training)...and if you have 'will & desire', ....I am sure...you will learn it easily..you know ..."where there is a will, there is a way" Best of Luck! While typing, I look at the screen. Howver, before I type, I look at the keyboard - just to be sure my fingers are position at the right position. I do look at the keyboard when typing special characters or numbers. It is easier to eat chapati compared to making it, so I choose to eat instead of make. As for flying kites, I always give the kite full freedom :P

eating is easy 4 all, ever thought of making or doing this hard work of making round chapatis.

I watch the screen when I type since I live online and do lots of typing. I used to take forever to write one sentence, but I have gotten a lot better since I have been writing online. I am trying to spend more time on Mylot when work slows down, maybe then i can put my skills to use!

I type watching the screen. I took piano lessons for 5 years when I was growing up, so I think I learned to move my fingers where they need to go without watching from that. The only time I need to look at the keyboard is when typing numbers.

In my freshman year of high school (1987), I took a typing course. Electric typewriters! Can ya imagine??? LOL Since thing, I do not look at the keyboard to type, except for when I'm tired or such. I typically type 65+ words per minute. My 10-key (the numbers on the far right) is 10,000 keystrokes per second. I was just recently timed at ManPower Temp services for a job ... I clocked in at 11,230 ksph for 10-key.

Hello coolcat. I can understand your frustration regarding this typing matter. The only solution for you is to practice, practice and practice. I used to be quite poor with this typing thingy too. With loads of determination, I kept mastering my typing skills while staring at the screen. Granted that it was tedious and real frustrating at first but it was worth all the effort. I'm typing real fast now while staring at the screen only. Here's two links where you can use to practice your typing skills. Its understandable that you will get a lot of mistakes and typing at a snail pace initially. Eventually, you will be able to improve too. http://www.learn2type.com/ http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php

hi coolcat!!Cheer up..You can type fast soon by practise. If you understand how to use keyboard i mean paricular finger to particular key you can improve your speed by practise.Actually i have good practise on typewriter ,it helps me to type on my PC watching on screen. But when come to numbers or pressing function keys i look at keyboard for a while.Use typing tutors, you can improve your typing skills or being here at mylot too you can improve yourself day by day. Then coming to chapati i was using a tip.In my teens it was so hard for me to make chapati round. After pressing chapati i used to take a round lid ,pressing over it and removing outer ata.We use this tip even now to make small pani puries...Hope this helps. You give full freedom to kite and move according and.Lol am not an expertv in flying kites so high and catching others kites. But you can do take help from the experts.Once you understand the technique you can.Smiles...

Hi Coolcat. I usually look only at the keyboard and type and just might look up at the screen ehen i have a doubt that i made a mistake. hehehe. Hey friend dont be depressed because these are the world 3 toughest things. Ya but practice and u shall succeed. Regarding round chapatis the trick is dont apply much pressure and just let ur wrist take small angles to get the turns. The time taken will make the chapati spin to a round.
