"Jesus Christ is so tired, He is hungry and so, we offered him to eat with us" I can see the pain in their eyes. Children in this painting suffer different problems at a tender age. The picture below is a painting made by a Filipino ENTREPRENEUR named Joey Velasco, yes, he's not a professional painter. We have the chance to see him this afternoon and he discussed about his paintings. He almost died, he is half crazy then, he always locks himself inside his room and then one day, he saw a streak of light on his door and then he feel the urge to paint this one. He got his models from different places. Each child has their own stories. Teenage mom, residing in squatter's area, living in a cemetery... He painted these kids without knowing them personally. He just painted them, give them something in return and then bye. 6 months had passed and the painting is done. He saw the final work. He put it on his dining area to be displayed. His main purpose for this was only for display but as days passed, he hears something in his head, "you just used us.." the children were the ones whom he is hearing. He then get back to the children after this and made personal contact with them. Now, they are good friends. =) THE LAST SUPPER having twelve children as Jesus Christ's Apostle is something that will make you feel amazed at first glance and pity on the next. I bought one poster of this painting and then, as I look on it for the fourth time, I feel something weird. The photo really makes me feel awkward. A poster was shown to the children who have posed for this masterpiece. Two of them said this lines in Tagalog but I'll translate it: "Jesus Christ is so tired, He is hungry and so, we offered him to eat with us" Those lines made me smile while watching the video presented to us. Those kids know this simple things that are very touching. See it also and explain the unexplainable feelings. ;) http://joeyvelasco.com/
