Is Maalox the best medicine for hyperacidity?

I am trying to heal my problem with hyperacidity and a friend of mine told me to take maalox but everytime i drink this before eating it makes my heart beats faster than the usual beat. I guess this is not good for me? or should i try another kind of medicine for hyperacidity?

If you are having a problem with this, you should talk to your doctor. I just went threw something similiar with my son. They put him on mylanta liquid because it coats as you swallow it. That didn't help him and he was in such pain when he ate or drank that he ended up having to go to the hospital to be hydrated. They finally gave him a perscription medicine that helps with his problem. If you are having problems with Maalox then stop taking it and call the doctor for an alternative.

I know this is just a bad reaction from my body because we had tequila last night and i didnt eat before the drinking session and after the night i also drink 2 glasses of fresh milk which is really bad because i am adding more acid to my body, lactic acid..i am worried if this might last forever so i should go see a doctor for this.

My sons started by taking a pill and it didn't go all the way down. He was in pain for over 1 week until he finally got the perscription med. By then he waited too long and was dehydrated so ended up in the hospital. I wouldn't wait too much longer to talk to a doctor.

I usually take maalox for my hyperacidity and sometimes kremil s helps too! i guess the best medicine would be try to eat at the right time, dont skip meals and avoid acidic food for awhile..even softdrinks too!
