I am not creative and productive so far as starting new discusions is concerned. I admire my friends on my friend list, who are so creative and productive in starting new discussions. Would you please not ignore me and kindly share with me your secrets about how? I am looking forward to your sincere response with keen interest. Thanks in advance.

hi william! ^__^ i have a few discussions with a lot of responses and they have few things in common. first is that the they are odd but fun discussions like i ate ants, this is what i do with my worn out undies (LOL)... fun discussions always attract a lot of people and also odd ones because they'd be curious on to what had happened. ^__^;; and then the second thing would be, they are encountered by different people in their everyday lives like staying late at night, watching tv while studying/working.. things like that. because people can easily relate their own experiences with it. and i think objective discussions are easier to answer than subjective ones. also, your topic should be creative and interesting and catchy. like when they read it, they would instantly smile or be reminded of something, either their own experience or their friends' experiences which they would want to share. lastly, the content of your discussion should be easy and fun and interesting to read. i've always thought that using a lot of adjectives makes something a little more comprehensive and imaginable. ^__^

I had the same problem when I started here. I noticed that this topic was 5 months old so maybe you were new at the time. I started by responding to any topic I found interesting or know something about. After posting over 1000 responses I ended up with questions and so I posted these questions. You see some topics remind you of some things you knew, heard or experienced and so you feel like sharing them, even if it's something simple but not everyone notices. That's how I started posting discussions.

Hello LittleMel. I was new then back to five months ago when I found it hard to start new discussions when I saw mylot friends' discussions pouring in one by one to my email notification from just one same friend. How I admire people who are so creative in starting any discussions about different or the same topics. I felt that I was so helpless in starting new discussions and so letdown at myself. But anyway it is ok now as I am used to responding to discussions and once in a while start a new discussion that I think is worth posting. It is so nice of you to give some advice on starting new discussions. I thank you sincerely, dear friend. Have a good day.

Who said you are not creative and productive in mylot. I read all your responses and it is really interesting. Keep posting what fancies you. You can put more information about vast areas of china - a land of mystery, a land of great unity (through communism), a land of great achievement (on the way to becoming great power), well known for maritial arts, well known for herbal medicines, biggest consumer of steel in the world, may be cement and other construction materials. All the best.

Thank you so much for your compliment. You make me feel on top of the world. The reason why I posted this discussion is because each time I posted a new discussion, there seems to be no response to it. Sometimes it is laid there with no one to take a look at it for some many days. My discussions are very lonesome there in the quiet place, which makes me think that they are ignored and cannot arouse mylotters' interest. Therefore I was made to think that there must be something wrong with my discussions. That's why I think I am not productive and creative and hope to learn more about how from all of my friends here. They are sure to offer me lots of help. I appreciate your compliment very much. I consider it a great help and praise to me. For sure I will start more interesting ones if inspiration hits me in the mind.

You are welcome, my dear friend. I am the kind of person, who is not productive and creative at all. Most of the time, I respond to my friends' discussions, unable to start many new discussions of my own. I feel upset for myself sometimes. Thanks for being the first one to respond to my discussion.

According to me you should be concentrating more on the daily day to day issues rather than too hectic technicall jargons(if you are doing so), also you have to concentrate more on the personal side of life as well as social

For sure your answer is full of value as anyone else's here. Thanks so much for your response, my dearest friend. By the way, I have to say that I am getting a little bit more productive and creative in posting discussions of my own, yet I still have a lot to learn from other mylotters, you included.

To be honest hun I rarely have a clear idea, rather things just come into my head. I think I tend to run with day to day issues, and comments on what is going on around me. Observations on situations, and sometimes just asking for opinions, plus I often find inspiration just looking out of my window.

I have pay attention to my friends' discussions and find that they always talk about our daily life. There are so many topics in our life.Obviously, you can talk anything you like on mylot because users here are friendly and helpful. They would like to share their opinions, expressions and suggestions with you. So my suggestion is,if you find something interesting or if you just want to say something about your daily life, please start a discussion on mylot.I believe plenty of people are interested what you said in your discussion.

Actually I read other's discussions and also the news to see if I can find an inspiration...if I can't come up with any thing at all I just go and answer posts instead of posting them...on a lot of occasions I find it easier for me to answer rather to come up with anything good but once in a while I get inspired by either friends online or off line to post questions...

Hello dear Rowena. I thank you very much for your nice comments and think that I am creative. I have to say that I have made a lot of progress in either posting new discussions or responding to frineds' discussions owing to the help of you all, my dear mylotters. I am glad to say that I am receiving more responses to my discussions than the first few months I joined Mylot. I do not have any secrets, but I have to say that it owes greatly to my friends that I am getting more responses to my discussions, either old or new. I have to say that friends are my greatest asset. Thanks so much for your response, my dear friend.

I personally love answering other's questions and discussing things more than bringing new topics myself. When I have something that bothers me ,I feel that I can rely on others help ,so I make a new discussion.

I answer more discussions and that seems to be a bit more profitable. Hard to find a subject that appeals to everyone. The male MyLotters might want to discuss sports whereas the females might want to discuss shopping, cooking and other girlie things. I have yet to find a subject that would capture the entire audience of MyLotters. Have only been here a month, actually active, so it's a slow process for me to figure out what to post and what not to post. Trial and error, so to speak. I enjoy discussions and probably spend way too much time on this site but do love the interaction. I would fret over the fact that my discussions weren't good. Actually, I believe there is more money to be offered by answering discussions and answering discussions with complete and accurate answers. Also offering very appealing and helpful advice.

Hello carolbee. I agree with you that different genders post discussions about different topics about the interest that they show in. I also prefer discussions that can capture the entire audience of Mylotters. I appreciate your responding very much, my dear friend.

I think a good thing to do is just keep responding to other's discussions and before long you will get better at it yourself. It is like I have heard all my life that you become a better writer by reading more. If you think about it, it really makes a lot of sense.

Please don't force yourself to think out more new discussions. As it is not easy to think out new good discussions all the time. Just take it easy. Sometimes you will be inspirated when you respond to others' discussions.

Hi williamjisir! I am not that creative and sometimes when I think about a discussion I want to post I always have this fear that people may find it silly or I might end up having any responses at all. And so i just ended up participating in other's discussions. However, I do enjoy participating with your discussions and with some of others' discussions as well. Have a nice day and take care!

Therefore there is no need to think whether they are silly or interesting. I also have some some silly discussions. Thanks for your time, faith210.

I was looking through your discussions and you have some interesting topics! You are doing great! For me, I don't have trouble coming up with ideas but I find the way people present the information is vital. Two different people can have the same topic, say the same thing in their own way and one person will get more replies than the other only because of the way they piece the discussion together. Look about MyLot, look at the discussions with the most replies and try to pick up on tips through their display! Good luck hun!

Hello momma of all trades. Thanks very much for your response. Yes, I have found that the discussions with many responses belong to those that are very common things in life and easy to respond to. Right now I am still trying to learn a lot and have learnt a lot from my fellow mylotters, but I don't usually start a new discussion unless I think that it is worthwhile for me to. Thank you very much for your nice comment and helpful suggestion, my dear momma of all trades.
