Daily Devotions?

As a mom, I have trouble finding time to have daily devotions. I think that it is so important to connect with God everyday but struggle with finding that quiet time. My daughter recently decided that she doesn't need naps anymore (she is
4 1/2) and because it is summer, my son is home. I'm not a morning person, so I'm not at my best when I wake up. Do you have daily devotions? What is the best time of day for you?

You know, I've found that I don't have to "be at my best" for Jesus. When I am relaxed, not paying much attention to anything, or even a little grouchy, He is there and willing to listen. If you don't feel especially spiritual when you first wake up, that may be for the best. Jesus is a practical and understanding. The important thing is to include Him in all of your time.

I agree that you don't have to be at your best. . .that Jesus will meet us right where we are. I guess I meant that I have trouble focusing when I first wake up. Thank you for your response!

I love to pray to God when I first wake up and before I go to bed. I read the Bible right before I turn in and then I get on my knees and pray to the Father.
We need to set aside time for God. We need Him so badly and He wants us to know Him more and more.

While I am also not a morning person, I have found it well worth it to get up a few minutes earlier than the kids to get some time in for scripture study/devotionals. If in the middle of the day I am really feeling the stress, I will lock myself in the bathroom for a few minutes and read a few passages then too. Another option is to get the kids set up doing a project and then take a few minutes for yourself. At 4 1/2, your daughter is old enough to spend 15 minutes doing one activity. Take advantage of it.
