Does anyone know where I could buy a specialty mix breed dog?

Growing up we had a mix breed German Shepherd dog. I believe the mom was a Keishond (not sure of the correct spelling, pronounced Kay-zon). He was the most gentle dog, and very loving. Great with kids too. We'd like to get a similar dog for our growing family, but don't know where to locate one. Where could I find such a specialty mix breed dog? Are there dog breeders that handle these types of puppies?
